Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who did it all. My mom raised me as a single parent, facing more than her share of hardships, yet she never stopped showing up with love, strength, and unwavering support. Everything I am is because of her sacrifices and devotion. So special to spend today with you. Love you, Mom. ❤️ #MothersDay

Great evening with Widener University and Widener Law alumni in the Washington, DC area. Thanks to Widener University president, Dr. Stacey Robertson, for the invitation and the update. Proud of all the things that our alma mater continues to do under her leadership.

Always special to spend time with these amazing friends. Can’t believe it’s been over 20 years since we served in the trenches of the White House together. So thankful for their lifelong friendship.

Honored to participate in last night‘s panel, “Designing Democracy’s Front Door” hosted by @aigadc . Thanks to Ashleigh Axios, moderator, and fellow panelist Deesha Dyer, both Obama White House alumni, for an insightful and thoughtful conversation from the perspective of two administrations, Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. We discussed citizen engagement, stewardship, access, digital evolution, continuity, responsibility, and the importance of public service. Grateful to AIGA DC events team, chapter president Megan Kimmitt and the board for organizing the event, and Vital Voices for providing the perfect venue.

More than 1 million people in our region are food insecure, including 1 in 10 children. The Capital Area Food Bank provides more than 60 million meals every year. Please consider donating your time and support to help make a difference!

SINGAPORE Day 3: Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, hotel pool, souvenir shopping, more walking. Durian is a popular tropical fruit in Southeast Asia. It’s everywhere, in many forms, but supposedly the smell is so bad, I saw a bus sign banning it from public transportation: No food/drink, no smoking, no littering, no loud music, No Durian! The Singapore MRT was a great way to get around the city. Trains were modern, quick, and came around every a few minutes. Went back to the Maxwell Food Centre for lunch. Pork, duck and dumplings along with lemon sugar cane water. Too much food. Ate half at lunch and then the rest for dinner. Side tip: the hotel will deliver a small bowl of soy sauce upon request. Shopping district in and around Chinatown was definitely a highlight. Contemplated bringing home one of those lighted lanterns, but didn’t think it would survive the trip.

SINGAPORE Day 2: Explored the city, continued my global 7-11 tour, stores are so different internationally. Not a Big Gulp or Slurpee to be found. 😊 Walked a ton until the ankle gave out, hopped the bus with Aleksandra, and ate lunch at Maxwell Food Centre which is a famous hawker hub in Chinatown known for authentic and affordable food. Went with noodles and pork, along with fresh green apple, mango and pineapple juice. Good stuff. Next, we toured the Singapore City Gallery at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and visited the Central Area architectural model which represents the current and future growth of the city. Pretty incredible.

SINGAPORE Day 1 Part 2: Toured around the city with my new friends Aleksandra and Moataz. Visited CÉ LA VI on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands which has stunning views of the city skyline and Singapore Straits. Beautiful Christmas decorations throughout the city including along the city’s iconic Orchard Road.
