Sonnenstraße, Munich, realized 2025   The building forms a C-shaped cubature around the large inner courtyard, ensuring maximum utilization of sunlight throughout the year. For the climate concept, the course of the sun and the actual light incidence on the façade were analyzed in detail. Sun protection, glare protection, and cooling systems provide pleasant shading and cooling of the rooms during the summer months. The outer shell of the facade can be folded outwards for individual ventilation. The main facade constantly changes its appearance due to the varying degrees of opening of the outer wings. This complexity is further enhanced by the materials used. Realschule Regensburg, competition 2024, 1st prize   The school complex on Judenstein has grown over several decades. The various building components and periods are only partially compatible with each other in terms of their future viability, as they are not accessible in a manner that is conducive to inclusion. Adjacent to the break hall, which connects the wings of the building, the ground floor accommodates facilities such as the theater, the music room, and a spacious, interconnected break hall. The school administration, with direct access to the teaching staff, is located on the Judenstein neighborhood square, easily accessible from the auditorium and the new main entrance. The former main entrance to the school is being reactivated. Opening the historic entrance creates synergies between the forecourt and the school building. The main entrance to the school complex is barrier-free via the schoolyard. The ground floor also offers specialist rooms for art, music, and crafts with direct access to the break and work courtyard. The additional room cluster for the open all-day school is moving into the former garden pavilion with an extension. Realschule Regensburg, competition 2024, 1st prize   The classic corridor area of the school is activated and used by opening up and utilizing the former sanitary tower as a differentiation or learning space, as well as the supplementary building structure. The learning workshop thus created can accommodate different learning situations based on educational needs thanks to its flexible furniture. The auditorium staircase is supplemented by a ramp system on the first floor, thus ensuring barrier-free access. In addition, the ramp system can become part of the experimentation area. Realschule Regensburg, competition 2024, 1st prize   The central location of the school site at Judenstein connects to the western inner city area and integrates into the neighborhood as a monument ensemble. To make the arrival of students safe and pleasant, the immediate surroundings will be designed to reduce traffic. The entire schoolyard will be unsealed and traffic-free. This not only simplifies access to the school, but also increases the quality of the playground. In addition to creating an inclusive access, subtle renovation and extension measures will also create spacious entrance areas and a clear address.  The renovation concept focuses on treating the existing building fabric with respect, transforming it into a flexible and diverse school campus through subtle interior measures to the existing corridor structure. The open all-day area, which is being incorporated into the educational concept of the secondary school as a new cluster of rooms, is moving into the former garden pavilion with an extension. While the basement floor with its earth-contacting components is designed as a robust reinforced concrete structure, the floors above are constructed using high-quality wood in an environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing manner. This combination combines structural efficiency with a resource-saving construction method, while at the same time creating spaces of high aesthetic and atmospheric quality. The result is healthy, inspiring, and attractive working and living environments that meet the high functional and representative requirements of the embassy. The sculpturally shaped facades do much more than just contribute to the building’s external appearance: they meet the highest standards in terms of sustainability, ease of maintenance, safety, durability, and structural sun protection – while also giving the building ensemble a distinctive, recognizable character. Deutsche Bootschaft, Canberra, competition 2025, honorable mention   The encounter with the existing site, the examination of the historical garden plans, and the sensitive handling of topography, vegetation, and climatic characteristics form the basis for the landscape architectural design. The Great Garden— characterized by a diverse tree population retains its identity and is carefully developed further. Existing garden paths are sensitively supplemented with polygonal paving slabs or screed without interfering with the root space of the old trees. Necessary tree care measures such as root search trenches, root bridges, or root curtains ensure the long-term preservation of the existing trees. New vegetation structures blend naturally into the existing garden landscape and emphasize the spaciousness of the site.   The garden is extended by a system of landscaped plateaus and a natural pond, which invite relaxation, representation, and informal encounters. Pavilions and shaded terraces create spaces for receptions and relaxation. Revitalization and extension of an office building in Tucherpark, Munich, in progress   In the course of the transformation, the building will be put to flexible and sustainable use, making it more attractive for users and noticeably upgrading the entire site, including the public spaces. The building will be carefully refurbished and converted from a single-tenant to a multi-tenant building in order to meet the requirements of modern working environments. Above the 7th floor, the existing technical floor will be dismantled and replaced by an innovative lightweight construction with a surrounding roof terrace for additional office uses. The characteristic existing facade will be completely renewed due to structural and constructural defects, however, is closely based on the original design, while at the same time fulfilling current building physics requirements and the dismantled material is fed into a recycling cycle for reuse. In addition, the building technology will be modernized in order to sustainably reduce energy consumption. Revitalization and extension of an office building in Tucherpark, Munich, in progress   The Tucherpark - a unique, green office complex along the English Garden designed by Sep Ruf in the 1960s - is now listed as a Bavarian monument. One of the properties is home to the building he designed in 1969, ‚Am Eisbach 4‘ - a defining element of the ‚Tucherpark‘ ensemble and an outstanding example of his structural design approach. Originally conceived as an administration and computer center for IBM, it was taken over by Bayerische Vereinsbank in 1996 and adapted several times in the following years to meet changing usage requirements. The bronze-colored, curtain-type aluminum facade was largely retained preserved. renovation of the Herz Jesu Kirche, munich, completed   The altar curtain of our project Herz Jesu church in munich was laser cleaned using a high-performance laser beam to remove dirt from the surface in a controlled manner. The laser ensures gentle cleaning without destroying the material.
