I feel like one of the biggest complaints/issues my clients have is their curls looking TOO perfect. Here’s a quick video of how I do my grunge waves. Take small to medium sections of random sizes and shapes. Don’t make perfect sections!! Curl everything away from your face, starting in the mid lengths and dropping the curls off the iron as you work. Gently pull the hair forward toward your face and then down to keep the curls from being too bouncy. Don’t curl every single piece. It shouldn’t be so curly you notice a difference. Spray with some @kevin.murphy bedroom hair or touchable for extra grungy texture. If it takes more than 15 mins you worked way too hard. My secret trick for transitioning darker tones to something brighter for summer is that you only need about 10-12 well placed foils…. And always some @k18 to keep a healthy shine. Back to back baby lights right around the hairline add a bright pop that bring major life. The client gets a visible change right where they see it and I can still take her lighter next time without making her completely blonde. Perfect for the client that is always bored and wanting a change but their hair can’t take lightner 6 times a year. Work smarter not harder! Whew! This one was a workout but so worth it. My sweet client came to me with a mix of professional red and Sally’s ion red over previous blonde. Not an easy removal. Fortunately the test strand gave me a roadmap and I was able to use different developers to get a pretty even lift. We started with @malibucpro cpr and a healthy cut. Then went in with @trionicshaircare lightner and @olaplex in @framar foils to get maximum lift while still protecting the integrity of the hair. Once fully processed I was able to use @redken shades 07M and 08Gn to neutralize the odd peach/orange shade left from the ion color. Our goal was to get close to her natural and the toner was so spot on we didn’t have to root shadow 👏🏻👏🏻 add in some @k18hair and she left with healthier stronger hair than she came in with so we are good to highlight in a few weeks. #colorcorrection #colorist #blondehair #bleach #
