If you follow jazz at all, you’ve probably encountered Allison Philips without realizing it. She’s played Carnegie Hall, Birdland, and the North Sea Jazz Festival. She’s shared stages with Yo La Tengo, Japanese Breakfast, and the Jonas Brothers. She’s a current member of the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and has performed at some of the most respected jazz venues in the world. On Sunday, May 17, she’s bringing her quartet to Huntington.
Presented by Vince Scuderi, the Allison Philips Quartet will perform at the Conklin Farmhouse and Barn at 2 High Street from 3 to 4:30 PM. The setting alone is worth showing up for — a historic Long Island barn that, on an afternoon like this, becomes something genuinely unexpected.

When they’re not teaching the next generation of jazz musicians here at BKCM, these five are performing all over NYC and beyond. This is a rare chance to hear them stretch out on originals and standards in an intimate setting - don’t miss out!

I am so honored and grateful to be named a 2026 Next Jazz Legacy awardee! It’s an incredible privilege to join this program, created by @newmusicusa and @berkleecollege@jazzandgenderjustice and funded by @mellonfoundation , that is focused on elevating early-career jazz artists.
As a part of this program, I will be working closely with my band leader mentor @alliboomboom and my creative mentor, Andrew Cyrille, gaining invaluable experience and mentorship. Read the full announcement from @NewMusicUSA here: https://bit.ly/NJL2026
A heartfelt thank you to @NewMusicUSA , @jazzandgenderjustice , @MellonFoundation , and @TerriLyneCarrington for their vision and commitment to this program.
I’m excited to share this experience with you all - stay tuned for updates!
