We are heartbroken over the loss of Jahvai Roy to gun violence. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
This tragedy is yet another painful reminder that we cannot wait any longer. We call on policymakers, community leaders, and institutions to take urgent and coordinated action to address gun violence, invest in prevention, and create real pathways to safety and opportunity for our youth.
A candlelight vigil for Jahvai will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. outside of the family’s home at 15 Martha Eaton Way.
