honestly still buzzing from Friday night 💜 Thank you so much to everyone who came through to All Access Beats. It was a smaller crowd but it was so beautiful - the vibe, the energy, the way everyone showed up for each other. That's what it's all about. Watching people dance, chill in the quiet space, study between sets, just be themselves... that's exactly what we hoped for. The disability community really is full of pride, full of fun, full of diversity, and friday night proved it. Huge thank you to our incredible artists SynclΔir, Amber Dubs, Selectaaa, and Katherine Vavahea for bringing the music. To (K)INDS for running the quiet space, SURG FM for the live stream, SignSoc for being there. to everyone who helped make this happen. This felt like a really solid proof of concept and we're hoping All Access Beats can run again. community spaces for joy and rest matter, and you all showed up for that 💚 thanks for being part of something special. Image description for All Access Beats photo carousel: A collection of 12 photos from All Access Beats on vibrant colored backgrounds with contrasting floral designs. Each image features 'All Access Beats' text and logos of supporting organisations at the bottom. The photos capture attendees throughout the night - groups of people smiling at the camera, people dancing and moving to the music, and shots from later in the evening showing folks gathered in front of the stage with SynclΔir. The images convey the joy, community, and diverse ways people experienced the event. #AllAccessBeats #Community #DisabilityCommunity #ThankYou #UniversityofSydney

hey everyone 💜 Huge thank you to everyone who came to All Access Beats on Friday - it was such a special night. We've put together a quick feedback survey (takes about 5 minutes) and we'd really appreciate if you could fill it out. This feedback will help us pitch to the university to run more accessible events in the future. Link to survey in bio! The survey is for everyone - whether you came on the night, got a ticket but couldn't make it, or were just interested. all feedback helps. Thanks for helping us make this happen again 💚 Image description: Yellow background with blue flowers. Gemma and Vince sit smiling at the camera wearing All Access Beats shirts. Gemma makes the ASL 'I love you' sign, Vince makes the power raised fist. SignSoc members and a cactus visible in the background.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Katherine Vavahea 🎶 UPDATE: This event has been postponed to Friday 14th November Katherine Vavahea is a multi-faceted artist of Indigenous Pasifika roots, raised on unceded Gweagal Lands of the Dharawal nation. Her foundations are deeply grounded in the diverse range of cultures she embodies, and able to sing in multiple languages, she evokes change through artistic medicine that stirs the soul and inspires empowerment. Katherine's musical journey includes her debut EP "Mama's Soul Kitchen" (2016), collaborative releases including a co-feature on "Waiting for Tomorrow" with Amber Dubs (2020), and new projects due for release in 2025. She co-wrote and directed the music video for "Days Gone By" with Australian Hip Hop Artist Willis, touring the East Coast to sold-out crowds of over 5000+ people. Both won $10,000 scholarships, showcasing their artistry to industry professionals in Hollywood, Los Angeles (2012). Since then, Kat has sung backline vocals for multiple domestic and international music tours. Beyond performance, Katherine is a passionate advocate and educator. She's been keynote speaker as a survivor of Domestic Violence and Complex Trauma at International Women's Days, political protests, and Indigenous Cultural events. Her work with vulnerable communities and youth - including 18 months as teaching artist for national not-for-profit "The Songroom" - demonstrates her commitment to using the arts for healing and social transformation. A former elite athlete and cultural dancer, Katherine now channels her diverse expertise (including qualifications in music, journalism, theatre, and remedial therapy) into inspiring BIPOC people and creatives, fostering artistic expression, and creating a more inclusive world. ✨ Catch Katherine Vavahea at All Access Beats on Friday 14th November, 7pm to 11pm at Manning Bar. 🎧 Ticket Link in Bio.
