Voting is over but the bus will be out on a route in Atlanta for a few weeks. I’ll share it once I know which route specifically!
I’m so thrilled to finally show y’all my bus for MARTA! And to have a piece alongside three other amazing pieces by @jonesyartatl , @johnlasalle_25 , and @arrrtaddict .
I wanted my piece to be inclusive so within the piece, the faces represent bi+ pride, the first face has lesbian pride makeup, the second face has trans pride jewelry, the third face has genderqueer pride makeup, and the florals are in pan pride colors. I’m so fucking happy with how she came together. 💗💗💗
Thank you so much @marta_artbound + @martatransit for the opportunity to have my work roaming the streets of Atlanta. Especially for Pride.

Oh also when @christina.kwan.art was taking photos for me, a family walked by and their little girl kept trying to tell her parents that my piece was her favorite. And after the mom said, “yeah I kinda like it,” I thanked the daughter but didn’t get to explain that it was my piece haha. There is something so heartening about children finding magic in your work. They’ve not lost their free, creative spirit and it feels like a good reminder that I’ve not lost mine either.

Here’s a little (gratuitous) taste of my deep love for this planet. I am never happier than when I’m hanging out with her. I always want to be climbing, swimming, hiking, exploring, everything I can do to know this world and its inhabitants and myself a little better.
We all gotta dedicate so much more time to keeping our relationship with Earth alive and well. We owe it to her, ourselves, and each other.

Got back into figure drawing (from life) with Kyler and Mónica (slide 1 is a 30 minute pose from the monthly figure drawing session at The Supermarket/The Bakery).
Got to meet Spider-Man with Larissa.
Got a spontaneous tattoo with Leigh.
Got to meet one of my favorite artists/musicians since I was 13 (and got complimented on my art by him—thanks Forrest 🥲).
Got to judge a high school art competition at Callanwolde and it was so damn heartening to see these kids so enthusiastic (and SO skilled).
Got to spend a lot of time with a lot of people I love.

An exercise in creativity and focus when feeling blocked.
Garnet Hill was one of the brands my Mimi loved most. So I decided to cut out a bunch of words from this magazine last night and then I turned some of them into a poem today.
As I said yesterday, get creative however you can. Even though I never share it, I’ve written poetry since middle school (minored in creative writing in college), so this felt like a good way to get myself back into the headspace for it.
I highly encourage just making things. Like literally anything at all. No judging yourself or hoping it’ll be something you can sell. Just put your screens away and nourish the most human part of you (creativity) for a little bit as often as you can.

Wanting to get back to recaps ‘cause I miss seeing friends’ lives and having a place to compile bits of mine.
Also slide 3 shows my Navigo Pass photo, not a mugshot lmao.
Had a sweet art day yesterday with @bakey.bakes , @wattsalot , and @missmelodymiller .
And I got to introduce Larissa and Sarah to shrinky dinks, which made me so happy ‘cause gah do we all need some extra magic whenever the hell we can find it. The pigeons are mine, fish are Sarah’s, and I wonder who the cakes could possibly belong to. Can’t wait to turn them all into earrings we can don together.
Anyway, Larissa and I recently talked about how much we miss the beginning of Instagram when we just shared everything we felt like and not being affected by how the algo is screwing us over or whether people dig our work.
Hope you all have as good of a weekend as possible. It’s snowing the teensiest little flakes in Atlanta right now and my heart longs for a proper winter. So I’m crossing my fingers for more.
