i kind of can’t believe i’m saying this—i’m writing a book! the PASTA GIRLFRIEND book, to be exact, coming fall 2027 from @chroniclebooks . what!!!
PASTA GIRLFRIEND will be a guide to hosting pasta parties of all kinds, but at its heart, it’s about creating beautiful experiences, the kind where everyone lingers around the table long after the plates have been cleared, no end to the conversation in sight. it’s filled with inspiration exercises, recipes, décor ideas, and surprises galore, and i absolutely can’t wait to tell you all about it.
the biggest thank you is due to @claire.gilhuly and everyone at @chroniclebooks for their partnership and encouragement, and another to all of you, for always reminding me that the ideas that freak me out the most are the ones worth paying attention to.

Ali is a creative director and brand consultant based in Los Angeles. Her creative studio, Ali LaBelle Creative, works with brands across the fashion, interiors, beauty, and hospitality spaces to tell meaningful stories packed with references across art and design history. She writes the newsletter À La Carte and is currently writing her first book, out in fall 2027. She also just announced her À La Carte trip to Italy.
We were drawn to Ali because of our overlap in curiosity and love of collecting. Both of us draw inspiration from the many books, films, pieces of ephemera, artists, cities, songs, and spaces that inspire us.

For the last few months, I’ve been dreaming up something special with my friends at @elcaminotravel —a company built around designing special trips rooted in cultural depth and creative community—and it’s alllllmost ready to share with you.
For now, I’ll just say it involves one of my favorite cities in the world, a place where every little detail is worth noticing, aperitivo is basically a civic ritual, and a single room can completely reconfigure the way you see design forever.
