Dillon used a considered approach to the animations, which traced existing engravings in the stone and illuminated each detail.
This ancient Kerbstone (K 15) in Knowth is the earliest known example of a sun dial and came alive with projections for the Solstice spectacle.

For RTE and Creative Ireland’s #ShineYourLight Solstice Broadcast we brought an ancient Kerbstone at the Knowth Stone Age Passage Tomb to life, using projection mapping
This is the oldest sundial in the world dating back 7000 years and the level of craftsmanship and ingenuity in the inscriptions shows how advanced civilisation was during that time.
The grooves that indicate the solstices are inscribed deeply into the stone, adding to the importance of those times of year in our history. #LONRAIGHDOSHOLAS
Shining a light on the past to bring it into the future.
We took this photo close to the winter solstice in 2020 at Knowth, a Neolithic passage grave and an ancient monument of Brú na Bóinne, which is decorated with artworks that are over 7000 years old.
It was a prvilage to co-create and co-produce the opening credits for #SHINEYOURLIGHT at such a culturally significant site. We look forward to showing you all our footage from the shoot and working together on new projects in 2021.

Perpetua is a new public art collaboration between ourselves and @james_earley and is running from the 7th to the 10th of March in Haymarket, Smithfield Dublin 7.

Running from 7th of March until the 10th of March.
This event is free and open to the public.
An original score by Simon Cullen was composed to complement the piece for the installation making it a complete immersive experience.
