Stairs, huh? Yeah, I love stairs. It’s clear it’s not just me.
Most of these photos are from Japan, especially Naoshima. #stairs #architecture #humanarchitecture
It feels like a good month to look forward to fusion events!
I'm so hyped to see you all at @playgroundfusionfestival in a few weeks where I will be taking photos!
I'm also really enjoying seeing more photos pop up from @kaleidoscopefusion 's Microscope - I'll be at XXL in March & would love to see everybody 😍
I'm also locked in 📸 for @fireflyfusionberlin 's Fusionauts Quest 2026 in May
And I hear there's this @theresponse_fusion event coming up too? I'd better get booking 🏃♀️💨
It's a good thing I just got paid 😅
I've been taking photos for a while now!
This week I've been doing some archive management because I ran out of space, and photos from the evening pictured popped up. I don't think I've posted this photo anywhere before.
This photo is nearly a decade old - taken on 21 March 2016, back when I took a lot of photos of tap dancers. I'm still taking photos of dancers in dim and weird lighting! And appreciating the communities and cultures of dance.
I learned a lot of value from the tap community and their clear roots in Black american dancing, and I try to bring this to the blues and fusion dance communities as well.
I don't remember the location, but my partner tells me it was not far from Hoxton Square, where the London Tap Jam was for many years. The Tap Jam's still going!
Old photos post today, I took these in January 2024.
These photos were taken in infrared, although it might be hard to tell. Some of the clothes which seem white will look black in visible light, and of course the white leaves are an infrared classic.
This week I've been taking infrared photos again, at Sparklers and in Copenhagen.
I love having the ability to take photos in near-total darkness with the infrared flash.
How delightful are @oneofmanycameras ? Super knowledgeable, straight down to business, generous in sharing the knowledge as well as fun to nerd out with!
I popped in for some SD cards (left my spares at home 💀) and to stumble into a satanic hömösexual camera store and get to geek out and shoot IR? The best possible outcome.
Some of you might have noticed that I post a lot of photos from festivals! I really like colour, but some photos do well with some colour correction, here’s an example!
If you’re curious about how one of my photos would look after I correct colour, feel free to ask, and I might post it ☺️

Wheee, time for another fusion dance post! Photos are from Fusionauts' Quest @fireflyfusionberlin and Kaleidoscope XXL @kaleidoscopefusion
This weekend many excellent dancers (excellent humans!) are at Highland Fusion Retreat - if you're going then I hope you're pretty much already there!
More excellent humans will be at Dark Fusion Krakow next weekend!
I unfortunately won't be at either of those 😢 I hope everyone has lots of fun and great community time!
Buuuuut - I will be at Comfusion by @intothebody_brussels so I will hope to dance with everyone there - Sia is one of the teachers!
I'm also hoping to get the money, time and energy together to get to Sparklers a couple of weeks after that, with classes by Flouer and Frankie! (psst, there's a competition for a free social ticket happening right now?! @firecracker_fusion_copenhagen for the deets)
And how can I mention Kaleidoscope without telling you all that applications for Camp Kaleidoscope track A are open?
We're super excited to be welcoming Alex Addison (@alexpenguat ) back to take official photos on Saturday night 🥰
Everything is consent based, so you can opt out if you want to, or opt out of them being shared online.
Here are some examples of their beautiful work taken at previous Kaleidoscope events. Can't wait to see the magic you capture this time. 💜
Naoshima was a lot of fun, and we also managed a little trip up to Rokko Morinone museum. I really enjoyed the modern art and architecture of Naoshima, especially Yayoi Kusama’s work which fits so well in the spaces.
I also loved the museum - Rokko is lovely and I have a big soft spot for self-playing instruments of all kinds.
Back to dancing posts soon!
K and I visited Japan, to go to the World Expo. Japan is wonderful, and I had good times there. I love the ring, which really is a new wonder of the world, and I got to see Osaka as well. More recap in the next post, so stay tuned! (And then we’ll be back to your regularly schedule: dance photos 😁)
@flouerdances and @jeremy.pye91 looking sparkly and beautiful as always! This one's another throwback to kaleidoscope XXL.
Also, there's a new Fusion Dance Europe discord! Go find your local organiser and ask them for an invite 🎫 I know that Flouer has some exciting events coming up in the next month which I am very sad to be missing 😭
