When I was younger, older people often said they didn’t feel their age. At the time I didn’t really understand what they meant. When we’re 20, 30 feels old. When we’re 40, 60 feels old. But now that I’m 60, I have a different perspective. From here… 100 feels old. Well, maybe. Ha ha. Which makes me realise that age is a rather odd concept. Inside, I feel curious about life. Interested in people. Excited by ideas. Passionate about possibilities. In love with this beautiful planet. And that feels like a wonderful place to begin this decade. Maybe I’ve learned that aging well is simply about staying fully engaged with life. Love and life amici ❤️❤️❤️ #proaging #womenover50 #agingwell #midlifewomen #midlifereimagined

It’s interesting how our idea of “old” keeps shifting as we move through life. When we’re young, it all seems impossibly far away. But the view from 60 turns out to be quite different! Surprisingly so…💃🏻 📝follow link in bio if you’d like to read more 🤗 #agepositive #longevity #over50women #proaging #midlifewomen

You know when you’re wearing clothes that genuinely feel like you - everything feels easier. Pop them on and simply get on with your day. Good fabric, thoughtful details, shoes you can actually stride in. No fuss. I think style becomes more personal with age. Less about impressing people or following trends - although I’ll always love being “in the know”😉 - and more about wearing things that feel aligned with who you are. Thank you to the always chic @lizsunshine for the street style pic.🙏🏻 🖤 @leemathewsau dress and jacket, trusty @drmartensaustralia , crossbody bag @la.forma.es with my Mami’s vintage lucky duck brooch as a clasp. #australianfashionweek #australianfashion #wewearaustralian #over50style #proaging

Bravo @leemathewsau - a stunning collection! ☀️ Loved all the considered details - raw edges, transparencies, panel-like construction, layered treatments…and your continued use of natural fabrics that wear so well and feel great on the skin. Can’t wait to try it on! Gorgeous dewy skincare @rationale and a barely-there makeup look by @lindajefferyesmakeup 👌 #Australianfashion #afw

I woke up thinking of my beloved Mami today. It’s Mother’s Day in Australia - although, truth be told, I think of her every day. I reached for the filigrana earrings on my bedside table - the last gift she gave me before she passed away. And these words rolled out. Link in bio - Fine As Thread. It’s for her, and for anyone missing their mother today. Sending love to all of you ❤️❤️❤️ #mothersday #substack

While visiting the WA Museum a few months ago, I heard an Indigenous elder describe how he’d been taught to move through the bush as a young boy. “Tread lively,” he said. “Let the snakes hear you coming, so they have time to slip away.” 🐍 The phrase followed me home somehow. Still replaying in my head months later. Tread LIVELY. A good way to move through life really - alert, spirited, paying attention. 😉 Read more, Little Things That Matter - field notes from a curious life - link in bio 🔎 #findjoyeveryday #agepositive #slowtravel #seeaustralia #over50women

Some mornings it’s 10 minutes. Some mornings it’s more. Either way, I’m out the door. New research from the University of Sydney confirms that even a short, uninterrupted walk - 10 to 15 minutes - can dramatically lower your risk of heart disease. How good is that? Easy-peasy, amici 😘 #walkingforhealth #trainingforlife #littlethingsthatmatter #findjoyeveryday #agepositive

Movement is good for your brain at any level, at any age. And we all know that instinctively - a walk in the park or even around the block clears your mind and lifts your spirits. But push your heart rate up a little? And you can actually grow new brain cells. 🧠 Neuroscientist Wendy Suzuki calls exercise one of the most transformative things we can do for brain health - and you don’t need a gym to start. Just integrate a little more movement into your day: take the stairs, park further away, go for a brisk walk. It all counts. And when you’re ready to push a little harder - get on your bike, skip rope, run with your dog or children - that’s where the magic happens. Start small. Keep it fun. If you find it tricky to get motivated, do it with a friend or join a group. Your brain will thank you. 😊 🎤via 10% Happier @danharris - “Tips for a Strong Brain” with Dr. @wendy.suzuki #healthiswealth #movementismedicine #fitover50 #over50women #livewell
