Here’s to more expression of self 🥂 This shoot was one of the most fulfilling, expressive, and fun artistic experiences I’ve ever had! @themichaelkushner has created such an incredible environment in the studio and in his work, where you can feel the time and energy he has put into the practice of genuinely connecting with everyone who walks in, collaborating in their vision, and then creating art from that place. I felt like I could be myself, with specificity and fluidity, at every moment and in every shot and that’s the goooooal! @sarahhamaty continuously gives me the gift of seeing all of me and encouraging me to be in that “all” as much as possible. She practices that with everyone in her life and her work. But it was especially a gift in this session where the hope is to capture a split second that reflects the most “you” that it can. I feel like these shots (and the others we got) really do just that. I see myself and so many parts of who I am in them! In my truest fashion, I am posting my bday pics from @chaosbabe.nyc 4 months after the fact…don’t change for no one bb but if I posted this two hours after or 2 years, I still would be reeling from this experience!!!! Thank you to everyone who came out and made the first @chaosbabe.nyc and my bday unforgettable. I felt so lucky to be in the room with so many beautiful souls who are from so many different parts of my life or who I have never met before. seeing us all meet and throw ass and laugh and truly release and be free with one another was an actual dream of mine come true! So many people said they felt like they were in a “different dimension” or “in a dream” and THAT is all I was going for! so thank you thank you thank you I can’t say enough how grateful and honored I am to share this life with so many incredible beings! I’m gonna do another post with the photos I have with everyone cuz there were too many for this post! HUGE shoutout to the IMMACULATE work of all the DJs for the night @kissingtherain @onlyvada and @zoobiana . They had the entire room dancing like rent was DUE huney!! Energy, love, joy, artistry, music, beauty, awe, wonder, expression, and freedom all radiating from all of us: Bey, strangers, my favorite people, and myself. I called her two weeks before the concert stressed about what to wear, she asked me for some words and essences that I wanted to embody, we started to refine the image, and then I got off the phone with her and she had sketched the exact image I had in my head seconds after. When it arrived I laughed and cried because little Alex who had spent hours up past his bedtime whisper-performing Dangerously in Love and Bday and dreaming for a day like this, finally got to feel beautiful and seen in a way he had always dreamed, and it’s all thanks to her!
