Anyone else remember this?
This advertisement ran for roughly 1 year in the US/Canada in the late 90’s. The product was a strange point and click computer game called Memories With Friends 2000 where you traverse a world that is both fantastical and fragmented in order to collect friends (and of course memories). It was released by a developer called Memory Gate Tactile Systems Corp.
The game was meant to act as a tentpole release for their original gaming system the “PrismDisc II” but failed to sell more than 10,000 copies in the first year of launch. Strangely, Memory Gate continued providing updates for the game including various peripherals and products for 5 years after its “failed release”. If you have any more information about this game or company please shoot us a DM!

Tired of Remembering?
In 1999, Memory Gate Tactile Systems Corporation released their ambitious 3D point and click adventure game, Memories with Friends 2000.
The game became a cult hit but was mysteriously pulled from shelves a few years after release and shortly after that Memory Gate dissolved leaving nearly no trace of the company’s existence.
We have not been able to locate a functioning version of the Memory Gate flagship console the “PRISMDisc II” and progress porting the game over to PC is slow and arduous. We were able to pull this tutorial video and remaster it for vertical format. This is just one of many menu sequences and we plan to release more as soon as we can.

Comment “I remember” if you remember
Another remastered promo from the perplexing late 90’s point and click game, Memories with Friends 2000. According to an interview we conducted with an anonymous source involved at Memory Gate Tactile Systems, the developers programmed over 35 dancing animations for the game’s mysterious on screen avatar. Many believe that these animations inspired what would become the Fortnite in-game dances that have become so popular today.
The dances themselves have no real connection to making progress in the game. They seem to randomly trigger when a player becomes idle for too long or shows other signs of boredom like yawning. Months after release, a number of players reported that they became “hypnotized” during these dancing scenes. Investigators reported the hypnotic state lasted anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, while others reported players being stuck for days, and a few rare cases cited “the player was not able to return to reality”

Remember this?
Memories with Friends 2000 was a bizarre point and click memory game released for the PrismDisc II. It was designed by Memory Gate Tactile Systems Corp in the late 90’s but there’s not much you can find on the company since their dissolution in 2004.
We got in touch with someone who previously worked at Memory Gate and they provided us this old release promo from the game’s launch. We reformatted and remastered it for vertical to share here. Will post more as we dig into this strange game.
