O’Guluva is excited to announce the following filmmakers who are adding to the diverse program we have for the 28th of March at the Carolus Cinema in Nijmegen:
Alex Sono with his student film Little Lamb:
Little Lamb is an experimental film that was produced in support of Alex Sono’s master’s research. The research, entitled Black Writing enquires an intersecting of South Africa Poor Theatre styles and the Film medium with the interest of a new, South African third cinema. The film chronicles a weekend away with Alex and his cousins and reflects on it in relation to black masculinity and coming of age. Through this reflection Alex is able to think about the coming of age that his uncle experienced in exile during Apartheid.
Kinesis Grapho with his student film Robbin’ Hood
Thuto, a young man from Katlehong goes to school and comes back with news that he has to settle his tuition or he won't be able to graduate. Trying to figure out what to do, he runs into his friend, Sifiso, he suggests Thuto get a job and Thuto doesn't like that option because he knows what Sifiso does at night. While listening to their plans Thuto asks Sifiso if he can join but he is reluctant because Thuto might not be cut out for it. With so much on the line can Thuto hold his nerve so he can graduate?

MOTHER THIS ISN’T ME. Cape Town Art Fair 2026
we did a performance called “White Tears” directed by @jackmarkovitz as part of the exhibition. The performance follows the slow and surreal morphing and dislocation of a young black man in a metropolis like Cape Town. In the journey we met the wonderful Gloria who not only voiced my mother in the piece but carried the spiritual ethos of the work.
Big love and appreciation @studio_________402 ♥️ all the chommies that helped and those that came to see and those we danced with.

a silly sequence of words but lately ringing so true. this has been a year of feeling things in real ways, joy pain, love. shedding layers between me and self.
