WIP type experiments for two great Seattle friends @travistrautt & @aleeens - and specifically the latter’s brilliant new band @semisoftband
Travis and I reunited for this sleeve after working together on Bush’s Greatest Hits. His imagery was so good to work with and after listening to the music I mashed some type together with a little help from my scanner.
I think I did 20+ layouts in one evening late last year and sent them to the band. Luckily they liked one.

Some background on the band: Semisoft is a dreamy post-grunge trio hailing from Tacoma, Washington. Blending spacey, hypnotic textures with explosive riff-driven energy, their sound lands somewhere between Fuzz, PJ Harvey, and Natural Child. Following the release of their Greenway Records debut 7”“, the band is preparing to unveil their second EP on Den Tapes, the Seattle-based cassette label and community founded by Kay Redden.
Looking ahead, Semisoft’s long-awaited full-length album is slated for release next year.
