mid-year checkin
I’ve been fortunate enough to checkout 8 new counties thus far in 2024. Here are some of those moments. Very much appreciate all the wonderful and kind people I’ve met along the way… besides the very old women who yelled at me in Paris for speaking English. That I really appreciated.
Sharing a trailer for my short film, ONE NIGHT BEFORE SUNRISE, starring @craph and @landon_tavernier . A film I wrote in 2020, but couldn’t make until 2023. Highly influenced by the new wave, this film is structured as cerebral vignettes. The Story: After meeting that evening, a French girl and American boy spend a night together.
Produced by @colleenmslattery and shot on Double-X B&W 16mm by @evan_weid_dp , our film premiered apart of the SF Shorts Film Festival at The Roxie Cinema in San Francisco. The film has also been apart of the New York Shorts Festival, Dam Shorts Film Festival, and Sunscreen Film Festival, amongst others. Big thank you to the LA-based crew for working on this one:

We just finished post on a new project; a 13 minute short film called John and Linda.
This film follows, John, who stays home from work one evening when he expects his wife is seeing another man.

A few months ago we set out to shoot a mostly improvised short film exploring a brother-brother relationship. Inspired by the Dogme movement, this collaborative experience became 534 West Washington Street.
“After serving a stint in jail, Dillon invites his younger brother to his new apartment. The attempt to reconcile a relationship is turned upside down as the boys troubled past is brought to light.”

New short on the horizon! GARLAND is a dark, quirky little story that’s been floating around in my head for years. In October, our crew gathered for a crazy 3 day shoot in and around Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Shoutout to @john_freebourn13 for setting up this production during such a tricky time. It was magical watching this group of insanely talented creatives make these ideas come to life. More to come-
