Questo è un pezzo a cui tengo tanto. È particolarmente difficile oggi entrare nel porto di Genova, tanto più se si è una fotografa. È ancora più difficile raccontare un percorso decennale di lotta come quello del CALP, il collettivo autonomo lavoratori portuali di Genova, senza semsazionalismo ma con umanità, divertimento e originalità.
@agnesebarbarani con questa serie fotografica ci è riuscita ed è stato un piacere sentirsi raccontare il suo mese trascorso a Genova tra archivi, container, navi e bar a bordo porto.

Resistance is the word with which we open this new year, through the work of Italian photographer Agnese Barbarani, who takes us on a journey to uncover the invisible yet loud stories hidden in the objects of the Port of Genoa. Her project ‘Objects of Resistance’ tells the story of a revolutionary everyday life, that of the dock workers and the CALP – Collettivo Autonomo Lavoratori Portuali of Genoa – filled with sabotage, struggle, and commitment against oppression and all the manifestations of colonialism, with ideals that remain unshaken by political forces or the passage of time.
Agnese Barbarani (1995, Verona) is an Italian photographer specializing in documentary and portrait photography. Her work embraces visual journalism, offering an account of global inequalities, social and ecological violence, and the power structures that sustain them. She spent months in Costa Rica documenting the advance of American capitalism among the indigenous Ndoge tribe. In 2023, she denounced the exodus from Nagorno-Karabakh by the Azerbaijani government in Armenia.
