We got a free old French door and decided to be extra about it. Cam planed it down to size, removed the old glass panes, milled new glazing beads, drilled one million holes without a drill press 🫠, we fixed holes in the wood, sanded and painted, each of the 150 nails hammered in the new beads could have smashed the glass (but didn't!), and now she's a portal to another realm. Thank you to @wink.glass.studio for the beautiful glass and to @smarjory4 for the free door. :)
We are all responsible for one another, and it's really as simple as that. This quilt, along with many others, will be on display @patchquiltshow Sept 28, 1-4pm in Corktown Park. I'll be posting updates as we near the date. Based on progress pictures from other quilters, this is going to be a beautiful show.
Three months of chaos without our studio space. Another room fixed from top to bottom, including ripping out superfluous closets, restoring 100 year old plaster, new drywall, new trim and casing, a built in bench/shelf, first time ever upholstering, millwork and fitting new glass into a discarded French door, and quilting a curtain! YouTube and an iron will can carry you through any project. 🫂
