Friends! Foes! All New Yorkers out there! I land at JFK tomorrow and will spend 5 days in Brooklyn. Reason for my trip is in the first and last slide: I'll get a Silver and a Gold at the Society of Illustrators on Friday night. My personal series "Un giardino in città" is also on display at the @soi128 exhibition. Be prepared from my Roberto-Benigni-at-the-academy style speech, in broken english, with a lot of hugs, kisses and pizza spaghetti mandolino. If any of you fellow illustrators, designers or art directors want to share a coffee or a beer, or show me your studio while I'm there, drop me a line in DM: I'm super happy to connect. I already talked about the gold medal (last slide) in the past two months, but haven't posted about the silver yet, so It's definitely time to do it: It's a mural project for Caciara @caciaramilano , a restaurant in Milano where the food is at least as good as the design on the walls. The illustration was conceived in tight collaboration with @giorgialongonistudio @mariaflaviaaugenti and @wrapandwall who took care of the top notch production of this and other details in the restaurant (see the patterned bench in the 2nd slide). Thanks to them and all the people involved in the project, from the owner @chiaratosato , who trusted me and gave me this wonderful opportunity, to @andrea__spat , @adriana___greco and all wonderful the people who worked on this with me. This was the first of many other restaurants I had the chance to work inside over the last year. I always have a lot of fun, so I definitely look forward to doing more! BTW: after NYC I'm heading to Austin: I'm anybody has any recommendations / suggestions about the city, I'm listening!

I heard from you it's Year of the Horse and this horse has been hiding in my hard drive for months. Seems a good time to post it, as the world burns. Stay strong folks.

This project, created for Cargo Milano, won a Society of Illustrators Gold Medal. It still feels a bit surreal, especially because it’s not the first time I’ve been awarded by the @soi128 . It really makes me reflect on the incredible work opportunities I’ve had over the past three years, particularly in the surface and design field. I designed murals, packaging, car chargers and even a punching bag as part of a wild group project. And even though I’m not the kind of person who hangs their own prints on the wall, this ceramic plate is a piece I’m still very happy with. Looking back at these projects feels pretty amazing, especially during such an uncertain time, when images often seem to have become a kind of “disposable commodity” and it feels like you’re constantly expected to hustle harder and harder (while, in response, I’m becoming slower and slower at communicating my work). Being awarded isn’t everything, but it’s always meaningful. Being selected and sorrounded with many great illustrators shows we’re all on the right path toward creating valuable, non-disposable work. Thank you to @cargo_hightech and @lorenzogaetanidesign for trusting me with this project, and many thanks to the SOI jury, led by the awesome @marcoschinart and @ellenweinsteinilloz And of course, thanks to my @machas.art agents 💫

In aprile è tornato in edicola @ilgusto.it di Repubblica, e questa è l'illustrazione che ho disegnato per l'edizione locale di Milano, dedicata alla pasta. Grazie come sempre @ffranchi

All you fascists bound to lose ✊🔥🌻

I quit chat gpt and I don't care about another searchbar that pretends he's a omniscient human being. I want a robotic cat, better yet a grumpy one

A cute 50 ouroboro designed for La Repubblica. I'm happy to be among the “50 Illustrators” invited to celebrate this half-century milestone of one of Italy’s leading newspapers, and certainly one of the best designed. This spot illustration is featured in the beautiful catalogue edited by Electa, as well as in the exhibition held at Mattatoio in Rome. I’ve been collaborating with La Repubblica for more than five years now, so a big thank you to art directors Francesco Franchi and Angelo Rinaldi for involving me in so many great projects. @ffranchi @a.rinal17
