@alb.packa Recap Two weeks ago, my race season started. Before talking about my race, I really want to mention the amazing organisation behind this event. The passion and love these people put into the whole weekend was incredible, and I truly appreciate all their work. Honestly, I probably spent my time there better than somewhere in a city in Spain😜🙌🏼🙃 Leading up to the race, I was extremely nervous. It was difficult for me to stay motivated, which also made it hard to focus. But once I arrived the evening before, that changed quickly. I immediately felt welcome, and it was great meeting people who all share the same passion for long bike rides. On race morning, my nervousness was gone, which felt a bit strange. After the start, I found a good rhythm quite quickly. There were a few small issues along the way, but I tried to stay calm and just keep riding. The route was beautiful — amazing gravel roads, small mountains, and also some long flat sections with headwind that were mentally tough. I focused on pushing steadily and eating enough, which was a challenge itself. I can tell you: after ten gels and sugar all day, it definitely stops being enjoyable!😄 Luckily, fueling went quite well overall. My biggest issue was blurry vision in my left eye, which made the night section a bit sketchy, especially with all the lights looking like rainbows. I was happy when the final part brought steep hills again and I could leave the flat terrain behind on the way back to Hardy’s Hütte. After nearly 20 hours, I managed to finish the race as the first finisher🥇— honestly, that surprised me a little. I knew I was in good shape and had worked hard for this, but everything still has to come together on race day. Of course, I made some mistakes, but I’ll learn from them and come back stronger next time — and next time will come soon :) And finally, a big thank you to my family, friends, and sponsors. None of this would really be possible without your support, and I’m very grateful to have such amazing people around me. THANK YOU!🫶🏼 @wheycation best protein powder @optimize clean chain, always @wfreiag Amazing pictures 📷 taken by @alex.kijak & @pace.shot
