I never posted this photo, partly because I forgot to download it, but mostly because I’m terrible at pausing to acknowledge moments like this.
Receiving an MBE from King Charles was… nice. Not life-changing, not humbling, just a really lovely moment. But like most things, I barely stopped to take it in. I was already thinking about what else needed doing, who still needed help, what came next.
Celebration has never been the point for me, impact has. But I’m learning that honoring these moments matters too. Not for ego, but as a reminder of what’s possible when you just keep showing up and doing the work.
So here it is, finally. Two years late, but posted with quiet gratitude.
P.S thank you @deanstott for the reminder!

Trafficking is everywhere.
Human trafficking isn’t just a distant problem.
It’s not confined to war zones, developing countries, or impoverished neighborhoods.
It’s here. In our cities, our towns, our communities.
It impacts all socioeconomic levels, and it doesn’t discriminate.
Trafficking fuels conflict, organized crime, and human suffering on a massive scale.
And the silence around it helps it grow.
We need awareness.
We need vigilance.
We need to care, because no one is truly safe when others are being sold.

One of the biggest failures in modern trafficking prevention is that we continue teaching the public to look for “stranger danger” while missing the reality of how exploitation actually works.
Most trafficking does not begin with random abduction at major events.
By then, the grooming has often already happened.
The manipulation, coercion, dependency, trauma bonding, and recruitment frequently begin:
* online,
* in relationships,
* through social media,
* within families,
* through economic vulnerability,
* and through systems we have normalized.
When institutions misrepresent trafficking, they unintentionally create operational blindness. We cannot dismantle systems we refuse to accurately identify.
Happy Birthday to our legend @deanstott
For his 39th birthday he decided to cycle the worlds longest road and break 2 world records.
10 years later he decided to get back in the gym and train for a fight that would take him to Montana to face an opponent almost 20 years younger than.
He was told it was important to have people in his corner who would drive him, keep him focused and win. Without hesitate he asked is wife and daughter. He was called ridiculous and told that was a very bad idea.
By unanimous decision a week before his 49th birthday he won his first belt, with Mollie and I firmly in his corner, the way it will always be.
We love you so much @deanstott Happy Birthday!! ❤️❤️
Eyes forward.
Women see the terrain clearly now.
The fight isn’t hypothetical.
The stakes aren’t abstract.
There is work to do, real work.
Uncomfortable work.
Necessary work.
We carry the long view.
For our daughters.
For our sons.
For the world they will inherit.
2026 is the year of the Horse, strength, endurance, and forward momentum.
No panic.
No performative outrage.
Just disciplined movement in the right direction.
We stay focused.
We hold the line.
We move forward anyway.
History doesn’t shift with noise.
It shifts with women who refuse to look away.
2026, let’s go.

Self-Sabotage.
It’s the quiet voice that says not yet, not you, don’t try, don’t shine.
And most of us don’t even realize we’re doing it.
Today on The Collective, we sit down with Alana Stott to break down the loops, fears, and old stories that keep us small — and how to finally step out of our own way.
If you’ve ever hesitated at the edge of something good…
this one’s for you.

A few weeks late sharing this, but proud to reflect on a meaningful moment from the @heroicheartsproject gala.
In 2024, I partnered with the organization to strengthen and build upon their fundraising foundation, increasing revenue from $1.8M to $4.1M, developing their first signature event, and diversifying income streams so they could enter 2025 with greater stability and long-term resilience.
Returning this year for their second annual gala was a full-circle moment. Seeing them sustain momentum, expand their reach, and deepen their impact on their own is exactly what I aim to achieve in every partnership.
This is the core of Rakini’s work; building fundraising systems, internal capacity, and revenue diversification models that continue to grow long after our engagement ends.

What a day at the @dcfinance West Coast Wealth Summit 2025.
Honored to host the event and for this panel we got to dig into a topic most people tiptoe around: wealth, influence, and the responsibility that comes with a platform.
Our panel brought the heat in all the right ways, honest, grounded, and refreshingly self-aware.
Huge thank you to @cole.labrant@heididamelio , @cbroadus , and @jackiefast for showing up with substance, not soundbites.
We talked about the realities behind celebrity culture, the pressure to “perform,” and how to turn visibility into real impact, not just vanity metrics.
Grateful for the energy in the room, the tough questions, and the willingness to push the conversation forward.

Five years ago to the day we arrived in the USA having packed up our lives in the UK and moved our family across the world, no roadmap, no guarantees, just faith and courage to follow our hearts.
It was the height of COVID, California was on fire, and America was on the eve of an election. We arrived with 8 bags, 2 kids and no plan.
Five years on, we we can’t say we have a plan yet, but what a journey it’s been and the adventure continues.
This week, Dean and I were keynote speakers and dignitaries on a float at the famous Mobile Mardi Gras parade. That for sure wasn’t in our five-year plan, but it perfectly sums up the adventure, opportunity, and incredible hospitality America has shown our family.
I’m so proud of our family for having the courage to take the leap, knowing the universal net will catch up.
We didn’t know where this road would lead but we have walked it together and met the most incredible people along the way.
Don’t be afraid to jump, 🌎 will catch you! ❤️❤️
