All I know is — it is March all year, these years.
hey, so..
these are temporal snippets iterated again and again, the same but never the same, gathering thickness and structuring into armor
or
these are temporal snippets cut into ribbons and cast as pathways along the Sagittarius constellation
or
a room, inside a cage overlooking a cage where
“On most days the light is just a pale pink to a coral hue, on others however
when the Observation Outpost is closer to the heated gas of the accretion disk - a gradient shift - intense crimson to indigo to turquoise. I run from pragmatics to aesthetics.”

Throwback to January, when @fettesans generously hosted this performance. Still processing most of this hc year, so haven’t really shared these up til now. (Also it’s report writing time)
𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 is a series of performances around envasive encounters with written and spoken language. The basic premise is that the performer or artist as reader engenders different artifacts as translation or symptom of a ‘textual infection’.
𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞,𝟏 is a performance about reading. It is composed of books and bookshelves, dusty memorabilia, bodies, text and (lack of) light. Simultaneously domestic and museum-like, it is set in someone’s apartment pointing towards the precipice of public-private. Its main gesture is invasion followed by contamination. Its movement - slow. Its atmosphere - vacant, humorous, clumsy. The performers retain a level of inaccessibility as does the work itself.
And so, out of nowhere comes a bundle of text, a piece of language. Ominous and threatening, this alien enters (through the ear? or is it the eyes?). All too soon it is no longer possible to voice to mouth to speak without housing this intruder.
𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞,𝟏 was done in collaboration with @lalacurrata and @marinlemic . and developed through @ricerca_x residency. The final presentation of the project was hosted by Fette Sans at @iamthethreshold . Financed by Croatian Ministry of Culture and the City of Zagreb respectively.

Liste Art Fair Basel opens today!
We are pleased to present a solo booth by Marko Gutić Mižimakov.
Marko Gutić Mižimakov is a visual, performance and text-based artist living between Brussels and Zagreb. They are interested in shaping sensory materials through intimate, collaborative, and social processes.
In their work bodies, including digital and palpable objects, are animated, choregraphed, and sung into non-orientable forms via different media processes of translation. Often borrowing from queer science fiction, their work is a form of speculative technology of mutual translation.
