Happy Women’s Day. You’re welcome. Now go get your ‘Little STEMmers’ illustrated book. Link in Bio. Unless you only just *say* you support women + science. I mean, it’s not like you’re spending money on non-existent eggs, either.
Honestly, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported my creations over the years by purchasing a book, calendar or shirt… or all! Hearts, Dr. Kuver

Deeper Healing. With highlighter? Hello facial marma points. A recent published study showed that face massage lowers neuronal build-up that leads to Alzheimer’s. Shankha is partially situated on the temporal lobe, which may explain the Ayurvedic theory regarding its connection to memory and emotion. Highlighting fluid creates a half-moon where headaches and acidity can be lowered. Gives new meaning to glinting those tans doesn’t it! READ THE STORY ON THE MAGAZINE LiB.

DOSHA DRESSING out and about. Last week or so I had the pleasure of attending @avantikumarsingh ‘Longevity’ book talk at the impeccable @zeromcornejo . The entire store is filled with Dosha-loving styles. R&D-ing this for 13 years, I can’t reiterate enough that the key to DD is color, cut and fabric. Brightest for high Kapha and more muted for high Vata and Pitta. Less structured for high Pitta and more for high Kapha. Heavier for grounding (Vata) and more flowing for heaviness (Kapha). Two pieces shown here struck out as perfect examples. The flowing linen champagne and ocean blue silk are beautiful to calm, energize and ground. They are having a sample sale (today is the last day)! More in FASHIONABLE SCIENCE on The Magazine (LiB).

Sleeping is for dreams or for the dead? The MoMA hosted the Met Opera in a mini pre-performance of their new production “Frida and Diego: The Last Dream”. It accompanies their exhibition of the same title, which is a stage set. I’m bummed to miss opening night this evening. Hopefully, you had a chance to go.
A bit about the performance:
Catrina awakens Frida Kahlo in the afterlife in an attempt to return her to Diego Rivera. He’s dying and calling for her. Frida is like… no way am I running into that car wreck again.

Met Gala: Fashion is Art? Mostly when dressing for the body. But that’s an art form. Shapes, lengths, textures, colors… it’s actually a science. Check out The Magazine’s Met Gala picks. It’s a lovely list to follow for a visit to the new Conde Nast wing, which is the Costume Institutes home. That’s the most exciting part. Thank You to Morphew NYC for allowing us into your exclusive + delectable archive!

So this was great. Impromptu thunderstorms + hibiscus smoothies + window sitting x vintage Gap Long & Lean jeans. The white jeans I wore today are the current Gap LLs. The blues are from when I got them in the actual early 2000s. Also… I think those lace Valentinos are ruined. The first wear of the season.

Definitely get out today. Apparently, New Yorkers have the lowest Vitamin D levels in the country*. I have not found evidence for this, but it seems plausible. Lots of tall buildings block the sun and subways are hermitage. But we walk an average of 10 miles daily outside. All we need is 15 minutes.
*An MD related this to me. Turns out that Buffalo is pretty low, but NY is not among the top 5 states. Nearly 1/2 of the US is Vitamin D deficient.

I’m the kind of woman who thinks like a scientist. Because I am one. Or is it because I think like one is the reason I am one? So, whenever I walk into an exhibition, I automatically see life. The inner workings of it. At Perrotin’s Daniel Arsham exhibition I thought… Negative Rumination. It is a disaster in the long term. Our brain basically starts dying by chronically looping unfavorable reflections. Reducing doomscrolling especially late at night is one way to alleviate the negative impact. Call a friend instead. Let them talk, listen intently instead of complaining about Meadow Lane’s off-temperature sandwich. Also… I learned later the exhibition is “Various Thoughts”. Science is Art, indeed.

I’m the kind of woman who can’t get a decent picture of the moon. Anyway… we’re off to the moon. Well, not you. Definitely not me. But 4 people are on their way to the dark side. Congratulations and Godspeed Artemis II!

I’m the kind of woman who eats a giant lunch. It’s called chrononutrition + it aligns the GBA with circadian rhythms. Better digestion + better sleep = better thinking. Anti-inflammatory pathways + vagus nerve signaling are also put in their happy place through short-chain fatty acid production. What’s that I say? SCFAs help calmness (GABA) + equanimity (serotonin). Basically, you’re less likely to keep sitting up in bed due to indigestion + having dreams of giant sandwiches chasing you.

I’m the kind of woman with a ton of content and never posts. I forget or get bored. It already happened, you know? It’s history…
This was Friday at the Drawing Center. It was super cold and I refuse to wear winter clothes anymore.
