So proud to be recognized with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, among my peers, last night at the CFDA Fashion Awards.
As a child, I was a political refugee, and I dedicate this award to peace, and the many children that are voiceless, who will not have a lifetime.

We are so proud to announce that in this, our 25th Anniversary year, our founder and Creative Director – Maria Cornejo – will be honored with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s CFDA Fashion Awards on November 6th.
This award is especially meaningful as Maria has always considered her work to have lifetime relevance, and our new 25 Year collection is a testament to that idea – anchored by re-editions of some of the iconic pieces that have exemplified Maria’s approach from 1998 to today.
Thank you to the @CFDA for recognizing Maria's independent point of view, and the unique body of work she has created. We can't wait to celebrate!

In honor of women’s month, we wanted to highlight an issue close to the heart of Zero + Maria Cornejo.
Women make up 60-80% of the global garment workforce and over 85% of fashion design graduates, yet we hold less than 25% of leadership positions in an industry that claims to serve us.
At Zero + Maria Cornejo, we are proud to design with wearability and function in mind—we do not see these words as unglamorous, rather we design to celebrate the inherent glamor of a woman’s everyday life.
Thank you to @bof for creating the space for this conversation, to @sheena.butler.young for her incredible moderation, and to @clarewaightkeller , who is a true force of design and champion for women in this industry.
