hello my 5th studio album “the Women in Manets Paintings” by kwon akakwon is streaming on all platforms and available for digital purchase on bandcamp with +2 bonus tracks. produced by eight n gene. big thank you to my mom and grannies and aunts and sisters and victorine meurent and augusta savage and your mom and her mom too and the great mother earth . . . . this album was about 3.5 years in the making. to have it finally be fully released into the world feels like i shed a portion of my being. in a good way. the first track(track 2 aunt angel) was recorded around the time i released “enter doomworld” and i was in a very appreciative and exploratory mindset. the concept for the title of the album came about a few months later after i watched a video on youtube titled “This Painting Made The Critics Cringe” uploaded by youtuber “art_deco” it was an exploration of the painting titled “The Luncheon on the Grass” by Edouard Manet. the cover is actually an original piece by me from june 2020 and was never intended to be the cover art just a place holder i wanted to commission an actual painter but somebody told me that jawn was hot so i said …okay! the recording process didn’t take too long. the process for me to be emotionally ready to release the album did however take about 2 or 3 years. it was available exclusively on [untitled] in various forms for a while. but now it’s everywhere and anyone who wants to hear it can. i hope it elicits some sort of emotional and or intellectual response from people. thank you for reading and listening i love you bye.
