Akaaro on Day 2 - Sustainable Fashion Day.
This collection, ‘Moonrise’ explores the idea of urbanity, functionality and modernism within the context of handwoven textiles in India. A fresh mix of colours, silhouettes and engineered textiles that underlines the sustainable development goals. Textile artist and designer Gaurav Jai Gupta has been in the forefront of finding new solutions through his weaves and processes in the past decade and brings his new line of garments born out of engineering unused and scrap yarn. The trigger point for Moonrise was the waste yarns saved at the Studio from over a couple of seasons. The yarns which would have been discarded found new life and meaning and were engineered to weave new textiles.

“ The Sky is mine Vol 2 ” is the continuation of our engagement with iconic International Klein Blue created by the French artist, who in a symbolic gesture famously ‘signed’ the sky and declared it his own, before dedicating his life to reimagining the vast, infinite universe in vibrant hues.
Adopting this uniquely artistic approach to fashion, the label presents its signature handwoven fabrics developed using materials like stainless steel, merino wool, monofilament silk and cotton, each offering an exploration of the sublime through pure colour.
