Humans are rubbish... First time joining The Friends Of Bradford Street @bradford_st_bhm litter picking group along side fellow digbeth residents as well as people from local business @howells_makes which is amazing! Really felt the community feels but equally was shocked at the most prolific amounts of rubbish on our streets. 🤬The items I collected the most of this time was GRAFFITI CANS/ NOZZLES & NOS CANISTERS - Do your thing and take everything with you maybe? Seeing people come together for such a good cause on such a hot day is amazing but I wish it weren't needed! I didn't find many usable materials today however I am looking for certain things so may do some stories later. 🌟I take my hat off to The Friends Of Bradford St as they have been doing an amazing job making digbeth streets nicer for us all! Shellibrating this dream finally happening 🐚 🎉 🐚 Shell yes! to this one I'm really looking forward to how this mirror comes out with the sand ⏳ filling effect too. It's been great choosing each shell, even if it's becoming a little more tricky and my favourites are being tested! I have been collecting shells since I could walk but those lucky chances have slowed down these days so my personal hand forged worldwide collection is becoming smaller by the make. 💚 Each one has a story, a memory, a wish, a dream a little moment where my feet touched the sand and my finger tips met some incredible earthly creation that released dopamine so strong I placed it wet and sandy into my pocket (my parents hand, jacket, bag) 👋 🌊 I would have collected my first seashell 🐚 in Jeddah 🇸🇦 where I was born, most of my largest finds would be from there like my murexes Shell 🐚 then on to traveling 🌎 where a lot of places it is now rightly illegal to remove these. I do have bags I return and have not taken washed up corals since becoming more educated on environmental factors on all the aboves. I'm really torn whether or not to keep this piece. Beach Please! It's that time of year again when I long for the beach, to feel the sand beneath my feet and the ocean lapping up the salty air and the never ending trail of gorgeous bits to be found! I'm finally working on an Upcycled seashell mirror which I've had in the pipeline for far too long! Follow along to see how this turns out! Dont do what I do 💥 You should probably use gloves 🧤 & considering my track record where I've injured myself standing on hammers or walked past bookshelves should be taking these precautions but here I am outwardly chasing every tactile sensation possible. The tin can collection was becoming a problem so I have been slowly cutting them up & thankfully found a nice cutter that does the trick for a few other projects. For now heres an upcycled charity shop frame that is ✨available with or without my little skull doodle from a decade ago. This frame is mostly Gin tinnies as I call them. Finding a vein and drinks of contrast, Thankfully now a thing of the past. The stress of scanning was driving you mad, So begin to forget all the fears you had.
