We're back with another spotlight on our ICA Producer Delegation for
@cannes.docs in May!
Meet our second producer,
@inukjorgensen 🌸
Inuk (he/him) is an award-winning Inuit filmmaker from Greenland, based in Sweden. He has a background in short films and documentary content and also works as a consultant. He is an
@efm_europeanfilmmarket Toolbox alumni, a graduate of the European AudioVisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE) producers workshop, and has been on the board of the Greenlandic Filmmakers’ association,
@film.greenland , for several years. Through his work there Inuk has been involved in laying the foundation of the newly formed Film Institute of Greenland.
Inuk grew up making short animations and videos in Greenland and even as an adult he is still committed to exploring his Inuit background, his culture, and language in his productions. He has a Master’s in film and language from the University of Aarhus (Denmark) where his thesis film won him and his production team several awards like Best Film at the annual awards show of the Information and Media Institute.
Together with the team behind the controversial WHITE GOLD OF GREENLAND (2025) Inuk is developing a feature length documentary about "the Greenlandic Titanic”, the M/S Hans Hedtoft, which allegedly hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage and sank without a trace in 1959. The ship itself was built as a symbol of Danish neo-colonialism and a western power’s ability to conquer the Arctic. A tragedy of the event left an impact on both Danish and Greenlandic societies and, in the case of Greenland, these are still felt to this day. Inuk is also directing his first feature length documentary called THE SHIP THAT WASN'T THERE, which will release in late 2027.
