I turned seven years old on October 23rd 1993 - curled up at the foot of Nan’s couch, holding my World Series guide tight, watching with wide eyes as Joe Carter stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth. The Phillies were up 1, we were down to our last 2 outs. I didn’t fully grasp the weight of the moment, but I knew it was important—everyone in the room was holding their breath, the room was silent, and then, with one swing, everything exploded in sound. “Left Field! Way Back!” Joe’s home run soared into left. He touched em all on *my* day. My connection was through that flickering screen, and my backyard reenactment of Carter touchin' em all. I never got to see my postseason heroes in person until now. Now, 32 years later, I’m finally here—sitting in a real ballpark, watching my childhood team take the field under the lights in the postseason. The sound of the crowd, the smell of popcorn and ballpark dogs, the sound of the bat—it’s all real now, better than I imagined. As I look around at families, kids with gloves on their hands, bright blue jerseys all around me, I can’t help but think of that little seven-year-old back in '93. We’re down by 1 again. Backs against the wall. Mad Max hurls a curve across the plate. Julio swings at a ghost. Strike 3. I never got to see Carter’s home run in person, but tonight, I got to watch a guy going to Cooperstown on the first ballot, pitch the game of his life and I’ll never forget it. We lost my Nan this year, but we’re still watching together.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my self-titled record. Released three years ago today 🥲 Here's a live off the floor recording of These Days: A song that speaks directly to the fear of languishing in obscurity and the beautiful naivety that allows you to keep grinding. Another big thank you to @willw & @opdbrooks_official for filming this with me in the height of covid and for lighting me beautifully (going Kino Mode), you can check out the entire album performed live on YT if you'd like to up my view count to 2.5k 📈

Renovations from my 2020 S/T album A song I wrote after reading the news and building a room. Personal, political, a bit sad, a bit angry. 5 2 4 1 with a 3 minor at the end. Preparenthood. 📽️ @willw + @opdbrooks_official (@ft_langley ) 🎤 @connorhead (@cataloguestudios ) Thank you to @nextdoorrecords @fulltimehobbyrecords and @factorcanada for their assistance in making this.
