Tack!

errante x (un)borderings sunday 25 Jan | 16:00 | Pulse & Pickle, 34 High Street, London. this film programme was born from urgency and solidarity. (un)borderings was organically co-curated by the filmmakers themselves: Aria Danaparamita, Ahmad Al Shehabi, Alex Nevill & Mariana Duarte. they found each other through festivals and community networks, discovering a shared drive to respond creatively to our current moment. but their creative approaches refuse the sensationalised image-making around migration and asylum in mainstream media. instead, they turn the lens inward. these films use migration and borders as a starting point to explore deeper, more intimate territories: the emotional and psychological landscapes within us, and the permeable boundaries we build between ourselves and others. this programme first came together in 2025 as part of Doc Screen, an initiative by Scottish Documentary Institute in partnership with Filmhouse Edinburgh, dedicated to bringing independent documentary into cinemas and opening spaces for political expression, debate, and solidarity. now, we’re presenting it in London for errante’s final screening. join us to experience cinema with a reflexive and communal twist. see you there? đŸŽŸïž ÂŁ9 & other options incl. limited tickets with pay-what-you-can fees tickets – Link in bio #unborderings #borders #UKborders #UK #migration

errante x (un)borderings sunday 25 Jan | 16:00 | @pulseandpickle , 34 High Street, London. a cycle is closing. the year began with intensity, and after 20 months of building errante in London, we are closing this chapter with a final screening: “(un)borderings.” the programme, co-curated by the filmmakers themselves – Aria Danaparamita @decolonialdaughter , Ahmad Al Shehabi @ahmalogy , Alex Nevill @alexandernevill & Mariana Duarte @duarte_mariana_ – brings together short films that emerged from a shared, urgent need to respond to our current moment — a time when migration is heavily politicised, and xenophobic rhetoric and policies are becoming the norm across the UK and Europe. at errante, we have been working to facilitate more critical discussions after our screenings. when we attended a previous showing of this programme, we recognised deep resonances, that’s why we feel honoured to close our London journey with a work that reflects both the emotional and political urgency of confronting oppressive borders. our hearts are moved — and a little heavy — leaving a city that, for all its toughness, has given us profound community, growth, and shared moments that meant everything for our project. this is not a goodbye, we’ll meet each other again, in another node, another place, we’ll keep on wandering and wondering. join us for an evening of film, reflection, and collective warmth as we close this chapter. let’s make it one to remember. đŸŽŸïž ÂŁ9 & other options incl. limited tickets with pay-what-you-can fees tickets – Link in bio #unborderings #borders #UKborders #UK migration londonevents screenings communitycinema communityfilmclub shortfilms belonging london pulseandpickle errantecinema solidarity

(đ“Ÿđ“·)đ“«đ“žđ“»đ“đ“źđ“»đ“Čđ“·đ“°đ“Œ @finch.communitycinema , London (17 Oct 2025) Thank you everyone who came to our sold out screening and conversation! At a time of rising hate and violence against people who've made this country home, we asked how borders shape our lives and communities. Through films that untangle borders, we reflected on borders as spatial, psychological, and temporal realities. If these boundaries were made, what would it mean to dismantle them? And how do we build bridges of empathy to create the communities we want to be? Thank you to my fellow filmmakers who've created this collaborative programme: - Dover 82 (2025, 5 min, dir. @decolonialdaughter ) - Headland (2024, 13 min, dir. @duarte_mariana_ ) - Notes From Brook House (2025, 28 min, dir. @alexandernevill ) - Witness (2024, 12 min, dir. @ahmalogy ) Our engaged conversation lasted into the night. We are grateful to people who shared their own experiences of seeking refuge in the UK, as well as the grounded analysis of how racism, colonialism, and imperialism affect our lives today. Shout out to @freeibrahimabah @antiraidhackney @sds_noborders_noprisons for sharing practical actions we can all take in solidarity with people facing the sharpest edges of border violence. And thank you to @finchcafe.e8 for hosting us and @kontekst.collective for their support. We want to create more of these spaces of reflection and conversation! If you want to collaborate please get in touch. ✹

Introducing the next film from our main festival showcase: VITTNE (WITNESS) by Ahmad Al Shehabi (he/him) @ahmalogy đŸ“œïž Vittne is a deeply personal journey through archival footage captured during a family’s escape from war-torn Syria. Seen through the eyes of a child and a teenager, the film documents their turbulent migration. A decade later, they revisit these images, uncovering the emotions and memories preserved within each frame. Through this archival lens, the film explores the power of recorded memory and offers a unique perspective on war and migration. The goal of the film is to raise awareness about the experiences of war refugees and highlight a child’s perspective, which is often overlooked by mainstream media. The ultimate aim is to contribute to reinforcing humanity in a world increasingly marked by darkness and polarization. đŸ‘€ Born a refugee in a Palestinian camp in Syria, Ahmad fled with his family before his teenage years, becoming part of a new generation of displaced people. Involuntary migration shaped Ahmad and fueled his passion for storytelling - particularly through film, as in recent years he has been working as a director of photography. Ahmad’s works have been featured at local film festivals, reflecting his dedication to the art of storytelling. đŸ‡”đŸ‡ž Through the screening of this film, Ahmad wants to take a moment to shine a light on the refugees and children of Gaza, enduring genocide and ethnic cleansing for over a year. Please consider contributing to the “Global Call For Action, Gaza Fundraiser,” a movement by students worldwide: /project/sfp-gaza-fundraiser (link in bio) 🔎 VITTNE will be screened as a part of UNEARTH - the first block of the main film festival screenings, starting at 19:00. đŸŽ« Book your festival tickets through the link in bio.
