ANGLE GRINDING IN DANCEHALL QUEEN! —- In the Philippines, we have this term “buwis buhay”. It’s a term we use whenever we perform doing death-defying stunts and skills set. We do crazy flips, jump splits and more. When I came to Jamaica, they have that same eagerness too. Dancing on the top of the roof, headtop on grills, daggering on bike! I felt connected with them again. As a POC, I always have to give not just 💯 but 1000% when I perform because I don’t have a privilege to always get casted, get picked, get recognition. And so I make sure that my spot will always be worth it whenever given a chance to dance. My final round, I showcased Angle Grinding! This won’t be possible without the help of @misstaken.identity . Thank you for being a great teacher! I also took time to apply for Public Liability and Insurance and made sure to follow safety precautions in this routine. Thank you to the organizers and venue for allowing me to fire up the place 😅! From questioning my worth, reflecting my purpose to actually braving myself to go ALL OUT! And I mean ALL OUT. I gave everything I got in this competition.
