As a freelancer, I mainly receive a public-facing byline for my written contributions, so as 2026 begins, I want to take a moment to share work I've done as an editor with some terrific teams over the past year or so. I find editing to be incredibly gratifying, whether I'm mapping out editorial strategy with staff, assigning or developing pitch ideas with writers, honing story and language after a first draft, or acting as a last line of defense against grammatical and other errors right before work is published.
For Doug Stallings
@fodorstravel , I edited several chapters of the 2025 edition of Fodor's Essential Germany, helping readers achieve their best travel experiences in one of the countries closest to my heart. Born-and-raised Connecticutie
@sadlow also trusted me, a mere Connecticut transplant, to edit the CT chapter of the latest update to Fodor's Bucket List USA, slated to be published in mid-2026.
For
@foodandwine , I supported numerous delightful team members across departments including
@ashday ,
@kalindahao ,
@breanakilleen , and
@audreymorg , working as a developmental and copy editor on hundreds of stories written by talented writers covering topics from the best new chefs in the U.S. to cooking guides and travel stories to some of the year's most popular news articles and recipes.
For
@eater Travel, I had the pleasure of reuniting with former coworkers
@nicholasmancallbitel and
@bylinemjf to edit restaurant guides to destination food cities across the globe, from Lisbon and Montreal to Mexico City, Rome, Paris, and Tokyo, written by almost two dozen local experts.
For
@authenticfoodinsta , I partnered with
@jannatamargo as editorial producer to expand the heartfelt independent publication's roster of writers and commission ten new stories about food, restaurants, and purveyors.
In 2025, I had the opportunity to collaborate with editorial teams I've worked with for many years as well as develop relationships with new ones. In 2026, I'm excited to be working again with many of the same great folks in the list above — and hopefully some new ones. If that might be you or someone you know, drop me a line.
