On May 7, 2026, AgScape hosted its 2026 Annual General Meeting at The Arboretum at the University of Guelph. The theme for this year’s AGM, “Rooted in the Past, Growing into Tomorrow,” guided the meeting as we honoured our 35th anniversary milestone and looked towards the thriving future of agriculture and food education in Ontario.
This year’s program featured inspiring presentations from important figures in AgScape’s journey, bringing us into today as we shared the current impact of our educational programs, including a live Virtual Field Trip demonstration with
@honeybeesatuog . We were pleased to receive gratifying messages of support from Senator Rob Black (
@sencanada ), Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, Trevor Jones (
@TrevorJonesCKL ), and Ontario Minister of Rural Affairs, Lisa Thompson (
@lisathompsonpc ).
Our keynote speaker, Daniel Kunanec, Assistant Curriculum Leader and Educator at Don Mills Collegiate Institute (
@torontodsb ), gave an insightful presentation sharing his work integrating hands-on agriculture and food literacy at his school and the impact this has had on his students, their communities, and career aspirations.
