After our 2 shows in Baton Rouge, I was about to hop in the van until my cast mate told me some people wanted to see me. Thought I was in trouble till one of them by the name of Ashley asked to take a picture. I was much honored. What stood out most was hearing her say how entertaining the show was. Moments like these make me proud of what I do. Before going back on tour with @tennesseetheatrecompany , took a trip over to @cxffeeblack to try out @8ballbrandcoffee by the Memphis Great @8ightball . Had the great honor to meet both Memphis and Hip Hop legends 8ball and @pimptypemjg . Felt like I was back in grade school bringing back so many memories of all the songs I listened to. Also I have to give a shout out to @k.b.wheeler and @arimorrismusic for being so welcoming. I am beyond grateful to all those who were able to come out to the Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy in Nashville. One particular highlight was taking a chance in inviting Mayor Freddie O’Connell to the show, and he concurred. After the show we had a quick chat and he took a picture with the cast. Thank you all for your birthday wishes, text, comments, kind words, and encouragement. Usually I don’t like to include too much of my personal life but I thought it was necessary to share this. As I reach the new Chapter of 4, Verse 1, or Version 4.1 (Age 41 in translation). This year I decided to start living and celebrating life more. Mainly due to it being as ChatGPT calls it a “date alignment anniversary” and embracing this moment and time. As some of you may or may not know, I witnessed my mother passing away on Mother’s Day 5/10/2015 (second photo is my mother’s grave marker), the following day happened to be my birthday: 5/11, my 30th bday to be exact. I didn’t celebrate that day nor did I even grieve. Emotional intelligence and the ability to articulate that was not one of my strong suits then. It’s about as equivalent to a conversation between the deaf and blind. All jokes aside, this year Mother’s Day happens to be on the 10th and of course my bday was a Monday, in this case yesterday. What I thought was going to be depression, possible FOMO, Midlife Crisis, or grieving my mother’s passing was actually way different from what I expected. Long story short, it was performing theatre in a city I’ve never been to, hanging out with my fellow players even if we had to work or drive the next day, blowing my candles out in front of a crowd of strangers who in real time witnessed my vulnerability, and driving 12 hours back on Mother’s Day. On my bday I planned on going to a concert but I chose to chill and rest without any regrets. This weekend brought out a lot of emotions for me when nouns didn’t go my way, but I have found a sense of peace with just going with the flow without trying to swim upstream. Like the photo of me in a tux, I say all this to encourage you all and especially myself to live and Be in the Now, the moment, and be present with Discernment. As 2025 comes to an end, I reflect back on how I came into the beginning of January with no plans or goals. I was suppose to make a Vision Board but got the 🥶 and 😷 (Not C19) literally a day before NYE. Nonetheless, I recovered (Thank God) and was able to be ready for the tour doing Aesop’s Fables. Then fast-forward, not even a few months I’m cast in Edger Allan Poe Speakeasy and back on the road again and able to make a living. In addition to other acting projects from playing a psychopath to being a teenager for a training video, narrating my first V/O, and being Kane Brown’s stand-in. Things didn’t go as expected, but went how it was suppose to go. Unfortunately I deleted a lot of my videos due to storage but I think this song by Big K.R.I.T. sums up all the touring I have done this year. And more to come. Most importantly turning the big 4.0 (40 years old). There is still much I didn’t get to accomplish but 2026 is going to be truly a year of Self.
