✨ So honored. So grateful. ✨ Winning a SOVAS Award for VO BOSS means more than I can put into words. Deep thanks to Joan and Rudy for recognizing podcasting and voiceover as a powerful medium long before they found their place on other major stages. That belief matters — especially on the days it feels like we’re speaking into the void and just hoping our voices land. This award belongs to my incredible team: my co-hosts @laulapidescompany , @dheeretom , and @daniellefamble , my amazing special guests, and especially Tolulope Kolade (@tcode_70 C), who joined us on our winning submission from Nigeria and reminded us that storytelling connects us across borders. To my audio engineers James and Nick, and my promo team Bonnie (@voiceoversuperhero ), Dianna,(@diannaconley ) and Devin (@adaptingsocial )— thank you for making VO BOSS shine. Nearly 9 years and 500 episodes later, this podcast still exists for one reason: you. I love this community deeply. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💖🎙️ #SOVAS #VoiceArtsAwards #VOBOSS #PodcastCommunity #Grateful Storytelling VoiceOver

In addition to my VO BOSS award for Outstanding Podcast, I’m thrilled to have won a SOVAS Award for Outstanding Narration Demo – E-Learning – Best Voiceover (Director and producer)! 💖🎙️ Much gratitude to @joanthevoice , @rudygaskins1 , and the entire @societyvoicearts team for all you do to uplift, recognize, and support this community. And Oh my gosh — what can I even say about the amazing Bonnie @voiceoversuperhero ? 💖 Being part of Bonnie’s e-learning demo journey, from coaching through production, was such a joy. Her focus, dedication, and undeniable talent made the collaboration incredibly rewarding, and I’m SO proud of what we created together. As always, my sincere thanks to John Chominsky @chominsky_chominsky , my amazing audio engineer, for well, just everything. Working alongside John for more than a decade has been a privilege, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care and excellence he brings to every project. I’m proud to call him my friend. I am so honored to do this work — supporting and working with amazing students, and helping guide them on their voiceover journeys. Celebrating moments like this together is what makes it all so meaningful. To my clients, my listeners, and every voice out there — please know that you are all winners I love my VO family so much! Most reads I hear aren’t bad. They’re just… forgettable. And “forgettable” doesn’t book. If your read sounds technically correct but isn’t landing, it usually comes down to this: No clear point of view No real intention No specificity behind the words You’re saying the script… but you’re not meaning it. Casting isn’t looking for “nice.” They’re looking for believable, connected, and specific. That’s the difference between getting passed on… and getting called back. Save this and take a second listen to your next audition.

“Nobody likes the hard sell.” 👀 One of the most interesting moments from this conversation was hearing our guest reframe sales as a suggestion instead of a pitch. Because the truth is, people don’t like being told what to do. But they do respond to emotion, connection, and feeling understood. That’s the power of great advertising. And honestly? Great voiceover too. 🎙️ The best reads don’t push. They invite. They make people feel something first… and action follows naturally. #VOBOSS #VoiceOver #VoiceActing #CommercialVoiceOver #Advertising #MarketingPsychology #VoiceActor #PerformanceCoaching

Last chance to get in on this. A lot of the time, it’s not that the work is “off”—it’s that nothing is landing clearly enough for someone else to respond to it. And when that happens, the instinct is usually to do more. More takes. More prep. More pressure. But what actually changes the outcome is simplification. Getting clear on what you’re doing in the moment and letting everything else fall away. That’s what this 2-hour intensive is built around—and it’s closing soon. We’re not layering more onto your process. We’re stripping it back so you can actually hear what’s working (and what isn’t) in real time. You’ll work through real scripts, get direct feedback, and adjust on the spot so the work becomes more: → specific → connected → usable This is the final chance to join before it closes. No overthinking. Just clarity. Book with the link in our bio or at https://bit.ly/4nwQQdW

One of the most interesting insights from this week’s conversation 👀 As Silicon Valley grew, tech professionals entering voiceover weren’t interested in the “woo-woo” acting talk… they wanted the code behind the performance. So our guest learned how to break it all down into a process that’s practical, repeatable, and easy to understand. And honestly? That’s why great coaching changes everything. Sometimes all it takes is hearing it explained in a way that finally clicks: “I’ve never heard it explained like that before.” “That actually makes sense.” “That feels easy.” Full episode linked in bio or at /voiceover-authority-mastering-the-moment-before #VOBOSS #VoiceOver #VoiceActing #VoiceOverCoach #VoiceOverTraining #PerformanceCoaching #VoiceActor #PodcastClip

Turq has officially mastered the art of relaxation 😻 There’s just something so cute about watching him hang with Jerry while he sleeps on top of the chair. No stress. No overthinking. No rushing around trying to be productive. Just comfort, trust, and peace. Oh, and he likes to keep contact with a paw here and there 🙂 Honestly, our cats teach us so much if we’re paying attention. Rest when you need to. Feel safe enough to slow down. Find your people. Get cozy. 💛 #CatLife #CatMom #CatsOfInstagram #Relaxation #SelfCare #Turq #StudioCats

Let’s talk about fear for a minute—not just the fear of failure - but the fear of success. After almost 18 years in this industry, I can tell you success isn’t one level—it’s many. You grow, you adjust, and then you’re asked to grow again. And sometimes it’s not even fear of failure… it’s fear of success. Because success brings visibility, responsibility, and expectation—and that can feel like a lot. But growth always means stepping outside your comfort zone. The fear doesn’t always disappear, but you get better at moving through it. Fear is normal. Keep going anyway.

Most actors don’t need more auditions. They need their auditions to start working harder for them. When the choices are clear and the connection to the material is solid, the work reads differently. It doesn’t feel uncertain. It feels ready. That’s exactly what we focus on in this 2-hour intensive. We work through real scripts, identify what’s getting in the way, and simplify the process so your reads feel more grounded, specific, and consistent—without overthinking it. You’ll leave with a clearer approach you can actually use the next time you step into an audition. If your auditions feel like they’re not landing the way they should, this is where that changes. A Milestone achieved - 500 Pilates classes this morning 💛 I’m usually pretty low profile when it comes to sharing personal physical accomplishments, but honestly… I’m incredibly proud of myself for this one. Three years ago, I started this journey not really knowing where it would lead or if I would even like Pilates —just knowing that I wanted to get healthier, and feel stronger and better in my body. And somewhere along the way, Pilates just became a part of my life - 6 classes a week.... I’m so grateful for what pilates has done for my health and well-being over these past few years. Thanks @clubpilates_sendero for being such an important part of that journey 💛 500 classes later… and I’m still learning, growing, and getting stronger. #Pilates #ClubPilates #500Club #HealthyAging #StrongAtAnyAge #SelfCare #Consistency #FitnessJourney #Goals #PilatesLife

Still smiling about this… ✨ Big congratulations to Bonnie Marie Williams and Chris West on their One Voice Awards nominations for Non-Broadcast Demo! So incredibly well deserved. It’s always an honor to be part of the process—from coaching to collaboration to helping shape performances that truly connect. And of course, none of this happens without great ears behind the scenes… thank you to the amazing John Chominsky for bringing it all to life. Grateful to see such talent recognized and celebrated. And to all the nominees—what a beautiful reflection of the work happening in this industry. 💛 #OneVoiceAwards #Voiceover #VoiceActor #VoiceoverCommunity #DemoProduction
