BIG NEWS!
We’re taking an exciting step forward for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. 👀
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and The Jed Foundation (JED) are thrilled to announce the intent to merge as equals to form AFSP/JED, the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to preventing suicide across the lifespan and bringing hope to those affected by suicide loss or risk. 👏
By combining AFSP’s national reach and research leadership with JED’s expertise in youth mental health, we’ll be able to save more lives, support more communities, and bring hope to millions across the country.

We’re incredibly honored to be named Chapter of the Year (Large Market) at the 2026 Chapter Leadership Conference.
We earned this award through record-setting growth in fundraising, programming, volunteer engagement, and community reach across one of the most diverse and expansive regions in the country. In 2025, our chapter reached more than 203,000 people, engaged nearly 700 volunteers, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, and had unprecedented sponsorship growth. Our Out of the Darkness Walk saw major year-over-year increases in participation and funds raised, with the DFW Metro Walk ranking sixth in the nation.
This recognition belongs to so many people.
To our board: your leadership, vision, and commitment shaped everything we accomplished this year. You showed up with heart and strategy, and this chapter is stronger because of you.
To our volunteers - walkers, fundraisers, program presenters, committee members, advocates, donors, sponsors, and everyone who gave their time, energy, or voice in any way - this award is yours. Nearly 700 volunteers strong, showing up across a massive, diverse region to make suicide prevention visible, accessible, and human.
Every mile walked, every dollar raised, every conversation started, every program delivered added up to something powerful. This recognition reflects a community that chose to care loudly, consistently, and together.
Thank you for proving what’s possible when people come together. We’re just getting started. 💙
