Still trying to process what has happened because I’m still in so much shock it feels so surreal. Never did I think I would be coming away a winner of 1 battle let alone 2. Battling is something that’s always given me serious anxiety and I’ve always felt the pressure to battle but would dismiss it with “I’m not ready” or “I’m not a battler” . Telling myself this kept me in denial for a long time but deep down it was just fear holding me back. It feels like a full circle moment for me as this is only my second battle, my first battle was in fact Afro and More last year when I got to top 16 so to come away with this outcome honestly feels like a dream come true because I didn’t expect it to be me but Gods timing is unlike no other. I also want to shout out my sisters @weareafroqueens for being my backbone throughout the whole day your love and energy was felt. A massive shout out and thank you to @misslulucreates and @coridlionne two women who I highly respect and look up to for creating such a safe space for women to battle and exchange. Thank you to @chaquille_gsb because without him and his trust and belief in me I wouldn’t have entered the Bonnie and Clyde category. Lastly I have to give thanks to the man upstairs because without Him none of this would’ve been possible. This has honestly been a massive highlight of my year which I’ll never forget and will be a constant reminder for me that timing is everything. It’s only upwards from here✨🌱🙏🏾
