The deadline to apply to perform at the next edition of Afro Drag is approaching! To celebrate our 7th year, we are launching an open call for performers of any genre (poetry, spoken work, lip sync, burlesque etc) to present their work through a drag aesthetic. For this show we will be debuting Montreal's first Black drag king boy band! If you are interested in joining the band or performing solo, applications are due Sunday, January 12th at 11:59pm. In 2022 we set out to create a virtual experience comparable to the live theatrical version of Afro Drag. Today we are proud to announce that the short film Afro Drag: past, present, future is making its world premiere at the UK's @filmpride . We are ecstatic to see this film making an international debut! Live performance, storytelling and experimental film techniques come together to create this special piece of work.
