Better yet, ours is the first of its kind to be installed in a university setting anywhere in the world. 🌏 This machine creates entire knitted garments in a single piece, eliminating the need for separate panels and reducing waste. From complex designs to sustainable fashion, it’s set to revolutionise knitwear production. 🌱 Excited to explore this innovation? Stay tuned for upcoming knitwear courses, or, interested in partnering with us? We’d love to hear from you! 🤝 @fdsfashiondesignstudio @utsfashion @utsdab @UTSEngage @TAFENSW #SustainableFashion #ShimaSeiki #Knitwear #UTS #Innovation #TextileTech #FutureOfFashion

Huge congrats to the first-year product design students who were selected from each of their studios on their trophy design in 84117 Product Design Communications B class. Today, the studio winners toured the AFRL and began the exciting process of transforming their trophy designs into 3D models using HoloLens technology. Moving from SolidWorks to Blender and into HoloLens, they saw their creative concepts come to life in a whole new way. A big thank you to Tran Dang, as well as their dedicated tutors, Ahmed Da'na, Danny Cheung and Ben Styles, for guiding and inspiring them with their assessments throughout the semester. We are so proud of the hard work of both students and tutors. This is only the beginning! #productdesign #utsproductdesign #hololens2 #futuredesigners #blender #blender3d #designandtechnology #uts #utsdab

Check out our latest Wholegarment knitted card holder, crafted using an inlay stitch—a unique knit weaving method that creates a sturdy and durable layer. This sample features a striking 3-color combination for a bold visual effect, perfectly balancing style and function. Made from a blend of cotton, polyester, and innovative hot melt yarn, it offers both comfort and durability. The hot melt yarn adds a special touch—after a quick steam with an iron, it heat-sets the structure, giving the holder extra firmness and shape. Ideal for those who appreciate craftsmanship and cutting-edge textile technology. #Wholegarment #InlayStitch #KnitDesign #TextileInnovation #HeatSet #CardHolder #KnitTechnology #SustainableMaterials #FashionAndFunction #Craftsmanship #3ColorDesign #3Dknitting #SeamlessKnitting #KnitwearInnovation #ShimaSeiki #KnittingTechnology #FashionTech #fabrication #uts #utsdab

Crafted with precision and artistry, our tote bag is made from high-quality Japanese paper yarn and hot melt yarn. Knitted on the advanced Shima Seiki Wholegarment machine, each bag is a seamless masterpiece. After knitting, we folded it into an elegant origami shape and heat set it, ensuring the pleats held their shape permanently. The shoulder straps are carefully attached by sewing, adding durability and style. Perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to any outfit, this tote bag is not just a bag, but a piece of art. #OrigamiToteBag #JapanesePaperYarn #Wholegarment #3Dknitting #SeamlessKnitting #KnitwearInnovation #ShimaSeiki #KnittingTechnology #FashionTech #TextileInnovation #SustainableFashion #substainability #Flatbedknitting #fabrication #afrl #utsdab
