Before Vancouver had glass towers, it had estates built to endure.
In 1912, architect Thomas Hooper designed what would become Greencroft Estate — a landmark residence in what is now First Shaughnessy. Originally home to Lieutenant Governor Eric Hamber, the estate remains one of the city’s most architecturally significant properties.
Its Tudor and Gothic Revival architecture is unmistakable. Oak detailing throughout. Original stained glass. An oak-panelled elevator — a rare artifact of craftsmanship.
Restored with care in 2003 and now configured as a side-by-side duplex with internal connectivity, the residence spans nearly 15,800 square feet — offering scale, flexibility, and presence in equal measure.
