In loose homage to the military tune “The Last Post,” this music is based on a recurring daydream I have of George Washington sitting in a secret camping site, no candlelight, preparing himself mentally for the “crossing of the Delaware.” I don’t actually know anything detailed about American history but the idea of planning battles in pitch black darkness is an interesting image. Ses œuvres ont été interprétées par Continuum, l’Orchestre à vent de McGill et l’Ensemble de musique contemporaine de McGill. Alex est un invité régulier d’ADLF.
Composer and multi-instrumentalist Alex Bridger has performed at the Montréal International Jazz Festival, Sound Symposium, and Pop Montréal. His works have been performed by Continuum, the McGill Wind Orchestra, and the McGill Contemporary Music Ensemble. Alex is a regular guest of ADLF.

Frottages emerges from a process of rubbing against the surface of Newfoundland folk song until faint impressions begin to transfer. What remains are smudged residues of collective memory. The underlying source is half-remembered, partially erased, and newly formed in this musical ritual of uncovering.
