SO excited to share the cover I created for the @fairyloot edition of HEIR OF STORMS 🌊🌩️ by @laurynhamiltonmurray !! This was the first project I worked on when I joined the lovely Fairyloot team nearly a year ago, and the response to it has been nothing short of amazing! Thank you to everyone for the lovely, encouraging comments! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
I’ll be posting the timelapse for the cover tomorrow, and a second timelapse for the hardcover will be coming shortly after!!

I’ve once again found myself drawing a fantasy map, and I’m not mad! I’ll take any and every opportunity to spend hours researching vintage maps and borrowing some of the same magic! It was also so daunting to try and live up to Heavenly Bodies, but I’m beyond proud of the work the entire Fairyloot team put into every part of this book! 🫶

I’m beyond honoured to share the hardcovers I illustrated for the @fairyloot editions of the DIVERGENT series by @veronicaroth 🔥👁️🕊️
This was probably the biggest and most complex illustration I’ve ever undertaken, and it’s up there amongst the ones I’m most proud of! I remember being so excited to work on this — having grown up around the time the books and films were coming out — I wanted to do something a little different from what people might expect to see!
Then came the research, looking at 20th century propaganda and murals to try and capture the dystopian setting, and to interpret that through the lens of the world that Veronica created. It was a blast from start to finish, and I’m so thankful for the reception its had - I never take the messages of encouragement for granted. 🫶

SO thrilled to share the cover I designed and illustrated for @nathalie__reads debut, MOONWINGS, published by @arena_verlag 🌕🦋💫
I had an absolute blast working on this with both Nathalie and the Arena team! The second this landed in my inbox and I read ‘celestial themes’, I immediately jumped at the chance to work on it. Celestial-anything seems to be my kryptonite 😆
More importantly, this project marked a very exciting milestone — my first ever German cover. It’s still insane to me that my work is stocked in bookshops in the UK, let alone in Germany and beyond! I can’t wait to have this on display on my shelves once the physical copies come in. 😌

SO excited to finally share these!! Here’s my alternate covers and hardcover illustrations for the @fairyloot editions of the EMBER IN THE ASHES SERIES by @sabaatahir 🔥🗡️🌱
This project was a year in the making from start to finish - I started by reading the manuscripts and being engrossed in the world Sabaa created, to interpreting that into art that I hoped best represented the series. We went through many many iterations until it was perfect, but I’m so pleased with how they’ve ended up and I can’t wait to put them up for display on my shelves!!

THE TWINS / GEMINI ♊️⭐️ - SO excited to share something a little different to the feed this week, a very celestial personal illustration I’ve been working on in between all my work projects!
It’s a very rare thing for me to have the free time to create some personal work - I’ve been so busy producing commercial work these past few years that I forget that a big part of being a creative is also about creating for yourself!
So, here we are - my take on the Gemini constellation (or the Twins), or Castor and Pollux, for the mythology aficionados out there! Oh, and before anyone asks, I am indeed a Gemini! 💫

This was a fun one when it landed on my desk! There were lots of ideas that ended up on the cutting room floor, but ultimately this twisted icy tangle of weapons represented the characters and the story in the best way! (One of my ideas was glimpses of arms and limbs being frozen and tangled together 😅 - it’s safe to say that definitely didn’t make it to the sketch phase)

I realised I never posted the hardcover for Heir of Storms, despite it being one of my most well known projects! So, here it is! The hardcover illustration for the @fairyloot edition of HEIR OF STORMS by @laurynhamiltonmurray 🌊🌘
This was the first big project I worked on when I joined the Fairyloot team over a year ago (!!) and one that I got to see come to life from start to finish. It’s surreal to think that a few years ago I was squirrelled away in my office, trying to build up a portfolio good enough to be looked at by art directors, to now having my work up on display on people’s shelves. What a ride it’s been!! 🫶
