My final major project for my MA in Photojournalism & Documentary Photography explores the process of learning to read music and play piano with my father, using that shared experience to look at communication, patience, and the generational exchange of knowledge. I shot everything on my grandad’s 35mm film camera, adding another layer of connection across generations. The photos focus on our hands, teaching, learning, and resting, while the audio recordings capture the rhythm of those lessons, the sound of learning, and the small moments that sit between.
