We are thrilled to announce our participation to the first edition of CONDUCTOR Art Fair at Powerhouse Arts in New York, 29 April - 3 May 2026. Our booth (B5) will feature a solo presentation by Adrián S. Bará (b. 1982, Mexico; lives and works in New York), curated by Maria Politano. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
Over the last few years, Bará has developed a body of work that crystallises often in monumental site-specific installations that explore the body and its relation to space, architecture and the structures that define everyday life. Bará’s artworks often function as archival traces of events, as stories that are meant to be intervened, challenged and transformed through the act of looking. Our booth presentation consists of an overview of works ranging from 2017 until present days, comprised of small and medium paintings, and a sculpture.

Join us to today from 6-8 PM for the opening of Adrián S. Bará’s solo show ‘Architecture of Defeat’ @proxycogallery
Adrián S. Bará (b. 1982, Mexico City) lives and works in New York. His practice, at its core, explores the body and its relation to space, architecture and structures that define everyday life. His work occupies an intermediary position between abstraction, figuration and site-specific sculpture, a practice in which a concern for materiality, space and the human body constitutes a central force. The artist’s training as a filmmaker drives his narrative-pulling in from daily materials and positions to construct ‘sculpted situations’ that are meant to be activated by viewers as they project their own accounts into the objects that invite them to do so. Bará’s artwork often functions as archival traces of events—as stories that are meant to be intervened, challenged and transformed through the act of looking.
