Road Atlanta:
It was a mixed weekend with some great results and some struggles, but overall we made great progress.
Bagger: We were unfortunately plagued by a new set of mechanical/electrical issues throughout the weekend on the bagger. Not quite the results we wanted, but the team did an awesome job working through it all. We were able to get some useful data in race two that will help us moving forward. We have plans for future updates to get the bike more competitive.. hopefully before road America. 🤞
Suzuki GSX8R: We knew the bike was down on power based on Daytona. Luckily Road Atlanta isn't as much of a horsepower track. P5 qualifying set me up for a great weekend of battling for the podium in each race. We didn't have the motor we needed, so I had to rely on infield pace and braking. I still managed the second fastest lap time of race two but could only sit in the draft, not make passes, which ultimately kept me off the podium in each race. I still had a ton of fun and managed a P4 and P7 in a good 5 rider battle for 3rd.
Although Barber (round 3) would have been a great track for me on the current setup, we have decided to put the money from the Barber round, into new electronics for the rest of the season. Budget is an unfortunate reality of running a privateer effort at this level. BUT, we know we have an incredible chassis setup with
@adrenaline_engineering and
@ktech TRDS suspension. I'm confident
@karnsperformance will have our engine to the same level after we get off the limited stock electronics. It was a blast qualifying and racing my with my friend
@vossbergracing . So cool to see him riding so well on the Aprilia. Also, a huge thanks to Jason Karns and Mark Vandall for all of their support this season. Without their support, none of the Suzuki effort would be possible. Huge thanks to
