Our conversation was brief but vibrant, a meeting of different worlds in the blink of an eye. His Majesty had a unique ability to put people at ease, leaving a lingering spark. It’s not every day you meet someone whose presence lingers in your thoughts long after the moment has passed.

For a considerable stretch of time, I found myself doing what my wife does every single day, looking after our teenage son, keeping the household from turning into a battleground, being present even when I was exhausted, even when I got nothing back. Still, a shrug or a door slammed in my face. And somewhere between the meals and the reminders and the waiting at night, it hit me: this is what she does all the time without pause.
We throw around phrases like “mothers are God” so easily, as if elevating them to the divine somehow lets us off the hook. But here’s what I have come to understand: she is not a goddess who doesn’t feel fatigue. She is a human being who chooses, every single morning, to show up anyway. She feels tired, she feels unseen. Yet she keeps going, not because it is her duty but because that love runs deeper than anything duty could ever demand.
So this Mother’s Day, I don’t just want to celebrate you, I want to acknowledge you. The patience you extend when it goes unnoticed. The energy you pour into people without any expectation. You are seen. You are felt. And I am only a fraction of the man and father I am because you showed me how it’s done.
To every mother reading this: every day belongs to you.
Happy Mother’s Day.
P.S. Ammi and I:)
Some friendships don’t require much upkeep... they need honesty. We have shared sets, scenes, and more laughs than I can count. But what I cherish most is what happens off camera, the conversations that go nowhere and everywhere at once. The silences that don’t feel awkward. That rare comfort of being completely yourself with someone, nothing performative about it.
Our industry often gets a bad reputation for fleeting and transactional friendships. I think that’s true. But once you find your people, as Lana Del Rey sang, “When you know, you know.” Not because everything is always easy, but because even when it isn’t, you stay. That’s not just friendship. That’s something worth holding onto.
Up in the mountains, I’m Zafran Khan…
ruthless tribal chief. Thunder fears me. Eagles report to me. Even the wind asks permission before blowing.
But then… when I came to the city.
And now?
“Excuse me, could someone dim the lights? I cannot feel the melody in this brightness.”
This is such a wholesome, golden-era vibe, pure friendship, humor, and respect all in one shot. The kind of moment that feels unplanned but becomes a memory forever.
If we imagine Ali Salman asking a question to the great Junaid Jamshed, it would probably be playful but meaningful:
🎤 Ali Salman (smiling, teasing):
“Junaid bhai, aap singer bhi, star bhi… aur itne serious bhi rehte ho, secret kya hai? Kaise itne composed rehte hein?
🙂 Junaid Jamshed (soft smile, calm tone):
“Bas yaar… zindagi mein balance seekh lo. Thodi muskurahat, thodi zimmedari…sab se zaroori, niyyat saaf rakho aur namaz qaim karo baaki sab apne aap theek ho jai ga”
Meanwhile, Aijaz Aslam in the background (Naak khujlane kay baad): ”Abey Yaar, yeh interview tu lamba ho gaya hai, kinwa juice peene ka time nikla ja raha hai” 😂

What do you think Ali Salman might have asked Junaid Jamshed, how he would have responded, and what are Aijazz and I thinking in all of this?

Standing tall with pride for Pakistan cricket, the PSL trophy shining brighter than ever, alongside Karachi Kings team owner Salman Iqbal and legends Humayun Saeed and Aijazz Aslam! 🏆✨
Years later, this video still resonates deeply with me. It’s partly the singing, but mostly the unwavering confidence that he's truly killing it.
As the singer boldly proclaims, Mubarak Eid Mubarike..hehehehe everyone:)
Lahore Falcons! We came. We played. We conquered!
To the contestants: you brought your absolute best, and I respect every one of you for that. You made winning this so much more meaningful. To my fans: you never let me doubt for a single second. Through every round, every challenge, every moment of pressure, your support was the loudest voice in the room.
To the studio audience, the energy you brought into the show was unreal. You were practically a team member yourselves!
And to everyone back home glued to their screens, rooting for us: thank you for making us feel like rockstars every single week.
I cannot wrap this up without tipping my hat to the legendary Fahad Mustafa; his high-octane energy is unmatched. He made every episode an event.
It was a ball of a time, as always, but winning it? That’s a different kind of thrill altogether.
Lahore Falcons forever.
Missing my daughters a little extra today❤️! Some loves don’t fade with distance or time.
“I have loved you for a thousand years,
I’ll love you for a thousand more.”
No matter where life takes us, my heart is always with you.
Forever your Abba
