Twenty-five years feels like a lifetime when you measure it in applause.
For me, Akvarious is more than special - all my plays, all my writing, all my acting - it all stems from Akvarious.
For that and more, I’m thankful, and full of gratitude.
Last night, as the lights came down on the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Akvarious Productions (
@akvariouslive ) at the Prithvi Theatre, nostalgia and old reunions took over.
We came looking for theatre, and stayed for people… For shared chai and food outside the venue, for arguments that felt like love, for rehearsals that felt like home.
Venues kept changing. New faces joined. Fresh grounds were conquered. But the hunger in
@akvarious remains the same - the hunger to entertain, to cultivate young audiences and to stand in the dark and tell a story honestly.
As this chapter of an amazing celebration comes to a close, it leaves behind more than plays. It leaves behind a new generation, that through initiatives like Fresh Meat, has learned how to listen, how to fail publicly, and how to rise together.
It’s good to be inappropriate. It’s good to be in Akvarious
