Production #91 has been a joyful experience. And we're super proud of it. A casual conversation with Kashin Shetty last year somehow, super organically, became a wonderful play. With atmosphere, and jump scares, and humour, and heart. And child actors, for the very first time in Akvarious history. Kashin, hats off, you've outdone yourself. Lisha, you're the support system dreams are made of. To the crew - you were phenomenal. Thank you. To the cast - its almost a crime when such good people are such good performers. Or maybe that's why it works. To the audience - we love that you loved it. We will have more shows. Please spread the love. TALES AROUND THE BONFIRE. Happy to say, we have a play. If you were there, you know. If you weren't, you'll want to watch this. Episode 1 of Unscripted Season 3 was everything we hoped it would be. NSD Legacy brought together Kumud Mishra, Gopal Datt, Ipshita Chakraborty Singh, and Durgesh Kumar and what followed was an entire evening's worth of conversation you couldn't have scripted if you tried. Hosted by Akarsh Khurana. The full episode is coming to YouTube on 10th May. Stay tuned. [Aadyam Theatre, Unscripted Season 3, NSD Legacy, Indian Theatre, Live In Mumbai]

#12 of #booksin2026. Was very excited by the blurb. And particularly taken in by the central premise, which is unfortunately underutilised. The bits that tackle it are great, but not nearly enough of them. There's also a very nice subplot that lands up going nowhere. All in all, for me, sweet but underwhelming.

What does it really take for a story to stay with someone? In Episode 2 of Unscripted Season 3, the conversation turns to spoken word and storytelling not just as performance, but as something that lives between the artist and the audience. Join Akarsh Khurana as he brings together Roshan Abbas, Priya Malik, Yahya Bootwala, voices that have shaped how stories are told, shared, and felt today. It's honest, it's evolving, and it's happening live. Register now-link in bio. P.S. If you're a budding spoken word artist, you might get a chance to perform your piece. #11 of #booksin2026. A wonderful and quirky gift from @sangachakraborty who is rather wonderful and quirky herself. Such a fun read. The history of comics featured some outright weird choices. Good stuff.

This bunch of recos is a mixed bag. some long overdue, some obvious and easy, and a couple of rewatches (RW). Anyhow, at least three of these movies are absolutely terrific. Oh, and Sandra Hüller is consistently amazing. #10 of #booksin2026. Didn't work for me personally. Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day is among my favourite books (and films). So perhaps the bar is set too high. I know this is a much-loved work, but maybe like its protagonist, I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for.
