🌊 @vima.artfair The film programme of The Waves Crashing is presented in collaboration with Rialto Theatre (@rialto.theatre.cy ) curated by @kostasstas SCREENINGS: Friday 15 May, 15:00, VIMA Art Fair, The Warehouse, Sinergatismou 20-3010, Limassol 3010 Saturday 16 May, 15:00, Rialto Theatre, Andrea Drousioti 19, Limassol 3040 Sunday 17 May, 15:00, VIMA Art Fair, The Warehouse, Sinergatismou 20-3010, Limassol 3010 The films will be screened with English subtitles. Presented in collaboration with Rialto Theatre. The moving image works in this programme function as rhythmic interventions, moving away from traditional narrative toward a cinema of resonance and return. If the wave is a refusal of fixed address, these films embody that fluidity, drifting through memory, landscape, and layers of history. The films in the programme create a suspended space where the act of watching becomes an act of political attunement. Here, the screen acts as a shoreline, a place to sit with the delayed impact of what is seen and heard, allowing the works to wash over the body and settle into the unconscious. Programme: Sofia Dona (@sofia_dona_ ), Stonethrowers, 2026, 27’21” P. Staff (@p___staff ), Bathing, 2018, 17’11” Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige (@studiohadjithomasjoreige ), Palimpsests, 2017, 12’40” Valentin Noujaïm (@vnoujaim ), Pacific Club, 2022, 16’35” Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige (@studiohadjithomasjoreige ), Waiting for the Barbarians, 2013, 4’26” Jumana Manna (@jumanamanna ), A Sketch of Manners (Alfred Roch’s Last Masquerade), 2013, 12’ Imani Mason Jordan (@homopathic ), Ditto & Ditto Take a Trip to Port Authority, 2018, 4’41” Adham Faramawy (@adham_faramawy ), And these deceitful waters, 2023, 25’20” Total duration: 2 hours 20 minutes Tickets on @more.com_cyprus or by the link in bio

‘A Proposal for a Parakeet’s Garden’ is included in the group exhibition ‘Avant Gardener’ @naughton_gallery Queen’s University, Belfast, open daily from 11am–4pm until Sunday 31 May. AVANT GARDENER examines how contemporary artists are tending to new growth – cultivating visions of connection, care, and resistance. Bringing together local and international practitioners, the exhibition explores the intersections of art, activism, and sustainability, asking how we continue to find meaning, pleasure, and purpose in our relationship with the living world. Featuring works by: Tara Booth / Laura Callaghan / Adham Faramawy / Eliott Gamer / Sam Fred Hinton / Laura Kelly / Aidan Koch / Patrick Kyle / Luís Lázaro Matos / Sinéad O’Neill-Nicholl / Stuart Sandford / Sabīne Šnē / Oisín Tozer / Yūji Yokoyama Images: @jan.mccullough

No genocide pavilion. No artwashing in our name. I stand in solidarity with the signatories of ANGA’s demands and support their call to exclude Israel from the Venice Biennale. The widening war we are witnessing did not appear overnight. It grows from years of normalizing Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its 78 year occupation of Palestine, allowing institutions to treat it as an exception. Culture must not provide cover for genocide and the brutal imperial aggression being unleashed on Iran and Lebanon. @angalliance

Beijing, you were a trip! I was there teaching on art and ecology as well as art research (more on that soon hopefully!) -4C with the winter sun low in the sky, waters frozen, locals ice fishing, the whole of Kunming lake at the Summer Palace frozen over, the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, the hutongs, markets, food, Chinese punk music, the wonderful colleagues and students, it was a very special experience 🌕 Happy year of the horse!

2025 was FULL! There’s so much more to share. Thanks to Wedjet the protective spirit of the cobra who watched over me this year. And to fish eyed Meenakshi and Matangi of the parakeets, of love, desire, courage, speech, music, art, wisdom, and the outcasts, for looking after me also.

Alexandria a few weeks ago. I can’t describe how rich this experience was, there aren’t enough images to show all the things I saw or describe how much I learned. Pompey’s Pillar, Horemheb’s Sphinx and the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa This ruined Serapeum was the original site of Cleopatra’s needles, now found on the embankment in London and in New York

Museum Acquisition! @fitzmuseum_uk in Cambridge have acquired my painting Martha, 2023, which now hangs in their galleries. The work depicts the last passenger pigeon, once the most populous bird in the world, hunted to extinction by settler colonial greed.
