Introducing the ADG Podcast — Now Live!
We’re proud to launch the Assistant Directors Guild Podcast, a brand-new series created for Assistant Directors, by Assistant Directors.
Ever wondered how the best 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ADs across the UK keep productions moving like clockwork?
The ADG Podcast shines a spotlight on the people who make sets run, schedules hold, and chaos look organised.
From managing departments and navigating union rules, to handling overtime battles, tricky directors, and those infamous British weather days — we dive into the real stories from real UK Assistant Directors.
Expect tips, war stories, career paths, on-set hacks, and the truth behind the call sheet. Whether you’re climbing the ladder, stepping up, or already running the floor, this is the podcast built for UK ADs by people who actually get it.
✨ The ADG Podcast — because the set doesn’t run itself.

Many of you will know the story of Mark Milsome, a talented camera operator who was killed whilst filming a car stunt on location in Ghana in 2017.
Five years have passed during which time little has changed to improve safety for crew all those working in the British Film & TV industry.
In support of the @markmilsomefoundation and all their work, as well as to mark the anniversary of the tragedy, we share the message to ‘Make Sets Safe’.
Are you being supported as an AD with a medical condition?
Due to the demanding role of an Assistant Director, coping with a medical condition, visible or nonvisible, can be isolating.
